Connection timed out

Hi, every time I try to sync with anki I get this message:

I have tried to go back to previous versions of anki and using a hot spot and nothing is working. I am unable to sync to ankkihub either. The ankiweb guide for syncing issues is not helping me.

Can you go to Tools > Preferences > Syncing and try increasing the Network timeout option?

This will only help with AnkiWeb syncing but it gives us a clue about the problem with AnkiHub too.

Hi! I increased the network timeout to 60 seconds and continue to get this message. I’ve updated to Version ⁨25.09.2 (3890e12c)⁩, Python 3.13.5 Qt 6.9.1 Chromium 122. Would you have any other advice?

Do you only see the issue while syncing with AnkiWeb? Can you access https://ankiweb.net/ normally on a web browser?

It’s likely a device/network issue. Do you have access to a different network that you can try?

I don’t tend to use AnkiWeb. I use the desktop app. I’ve only recently started seeing the message when on my home network. I’ll report back after using a different network/studying elsewhere… tbd.

This error message is coming from AnkiWeb. You’re probably logged in to it from the desktop app for syncing to other devices.
