"Download from AnkiWeb" erased some of my progress

Earlier today when I went to sync on my laptop, I was given the option to “Download from AnkiWeb” (see attached images). I clicked it and it erased some of my progress (around 200 cards that I then had to redo). The same thing happened again a few hours later. Am I supposed to click the “Upload to AnkiWeb” button? If I click that button will I not get updates from AnkiHub to specific cards?

For reference I also have Anki on my phone. Before I’ve been able to synchronize without problem between the devices (ex: I do Anki on my phone, press synchronize when I’m done, press synchronize on my laptop and everything lines up). I’m not sure if that somehow is causing the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes you will need to click upload to ankiweb.

You can restore from a backup here to get back your progress

Note: AnkiWEB and AnkiHUB are different services. “Upload to AnkiWeb” is regarding Anki itself, it has nothing to do with AnkiHub.

If you are using your laptop/computer, most of the time you will have to click upload to ankiweb.

If you are asked on your phone, you will need to press download to ankiweb if the last device you used was your laptop/computer
