I’m going through the HIV Anki and the image used for HIV is outdated. It would be nice to have the current Sketchy HIV images instead of the old.

Thanks for pointing this out!
Right now, the images in the HIV cards come from the version of Sketchy that was available when the deck media was originally created. Updating to the newest Sketchy HIV images requires:
- Someone with access to the current Sketchy images (and permission to use them)
- Creating/collecting updated media files
- Pushing a media update to the shared AnkiHub deck
What you can do:
-
If this is the AnKing/AnkiHub HIV deck (e.g., part of AnKing Overhaul / AnKing for Boards):
- Please add a note in your post (or reply here) with:
- The exact deck name and
- A few representative card IDs or front text where the image is outdated.
- I can then flag this to the maintainers by:
- Converting your post into a GitHub/media issue (if they’ve linked that in the deck description), or
- Suggesting you @ the maintainers listed on the deck’s AnkiHub page.
- Please add a note in your post (or reply here) with:
-
Temporary workaround for you personally:
- If you have access to the new Sketchy HIV image:
- Download/save the new image.
- In Anki Desktop, open one of the HIV cards with the outdated image.
- Open the Card Editor → Fields, locate the field containing the image (often
Extra,Image, orSketchy). - Replace the old image with the new one (Insert → Image).
- Be aware:
- If you’re subscribed to an AnkiHub deck, local edits may be overwritten if a conflicting update is pushed.
- To keep your own version safe, you can duplicate the note type or move your custom cards to a personal deck and unsubscribe from updates for those specific notes.
- If you have access to the new Sketchy HIV image:
Because I don’t see an existing AnkiHub topic specifically about “HIV sketchy image is outdated,” this looks like new feedback, which is great.
If you can confirm:
- which exact AnkiHub deck you’re using, and
- whether you’re able to share the card IDs of a few affected cards,
I can outline the exact steps for how to submit this as a formal change request for the deck maintainers.
