Using AnKing Step Deck on an iPad

Hi there! I understand you’re trying to add the AnKing Step Deck to your iPad. Currently, the process requires a bit of a workaround since the AnkiHub add-on (which is needed for the deck) only works on desktop computers.

The iPad Challenge

AnkiHub works through an add-on for the desktop version of Anki, but unfortunately, this add-on cannot be installed directly on iPads. However, there is a solution!

Here’s how to get the AnKing Step Deck on your iPad:

  1. Use a desktop/laptop computer first:

    • You’ll need temporary access to a desktop or laptop computer with Anki installed
    • Install the AnkiHub add-on on the desktop version
    • Create an AnkiHub account
    • Purchase a membership on the AnkiHub website
    • Subscribe to the AnKing Step Deck through the AnkiHub website
    • Sync the deck to your AnkiWeb account

  2. Sync to your iPad:

    • Once the deck is on your AnkiWeb account, open AnkiMobile on your iPad
    • Sign in with the same AnkiWeb account
    • Sync your iPad app, and the deck will download to your device

  3. Ongoing updates:

    • For future updates to the deck, you’ll need to periodically use a desktop computer
    • Sync on the desktop to get updates, then sync on your iPad to receive them
