How can i download deck from ankihub without addon?

I have an android phone and chromebook (low on storage), and want to download AnKing BLS/ACLS Deck. Is there any method i can download this deck as .apkg file without using anki desktop.

or is there any python script that i can run on a linux server (no GUI) to download deck from ankihub.

You won’t be able to download that AnkiHub deck as a .apkg directly from AnkiHub without using Anki Desktop (or the AnkiHub add-on on Desktop), and there isn’t an officially supported Python/CLI method to do so on a headless Linux server.

AnkiHub is designed so that:

  • Deck download and syncing require the AnkiHub add-on on Anki Desktop.
  • From there, you can:
    1. Subscribe to the deck in AnkiHub (web).
    2. Install Anki + AnkiHub add-on on a desktop (Windows, macOS, or Linux with GUI).
    3. Sync the deck via the add-on.
    4. Export as .apkg if you really need a standalone file.

For your specific setup:

  • Android phone:
    You can only get the deck after it exists in a normal Anki profile and is synced via AnkiWeb. So you’d still need a one‑time use of Anki Desktop to pull from AnkiHub, then sync to AnkiWeb, then sync your Android Anki app.

  • Chromebook (low storage):
    If at all possible, the most practical workaround is:

    • Temporarily install Anki Desktop (e.g. Linux Anki in a container or Linux apps on Chromebook if supported).
    • Install the AnkiHub add-on, sync the deck once, then export or sync to AnkiWeb.
    • Remove Anki afterwards to free storage.

  • Headless Linux server / Python script:
    There is currently no supported CLI or Python tool from AnkiHub to download decks or keep them updated without the Desktop client and add-on. Anything like that would be unofficial and not something we can help with here.

If you can share what’s limiting you most (Chromebook OS constraints, exact storage limits, etc.), I can suggest the lightest‑weight way to do a one‑time Desktop setup just to get the deck into your ecosystem.

Unfortunately, there is currently no way to download a deck from AnkiHub directly onto a mobile device.

You will need access to a computer at least once to complete the following steps:

  1. Download Anki on your computer.
  2. Subscribe to the ACLS deck via AnkiHub.
  3. Sync your computer’s Anki app with AnkiWeb.

Once the deck is synced to AnkiWeb, you can then sync your mobile device to download the deck there.
