I protected the “extra” field on my anking deck but now I removed the protection and want to sync all the changes that have been made to that field. However, ankihub says there are no updates to sync (even though there is a discrepancy between my cards and ankihub cards). Is it possible to sync my extra field to the ankihub cards even if the updates already happened while the field was protected?
Unsubscribe to the deck on the ankihub addon → unsubscribe to the deck on the ankihub website → resubscribe again on the website → press sync on anki → that should fix it

Awesome! And how do I do that? I don’t see a “reset” option on the ankihub addon.
That’s how you get to the option:
Open the Anki Browser → there’s an AnkiHub menu in the top toolbar → Select Reset local changes to deck
Sorry for all the questions but is it possible to reset local changes without changing the cards that I individually protected with the “ankihub_protect::All” tag or will those cards inevitably revert back to match with ankihub cards as well?
If you have that tag on them, as long as you protect that tag as well, it wont be overwritten/changed

That’s correct, except that you don’t have to protect the AnkiHub protect tag as it is protected by default.
