Hi Samia,
After using the Empty Cards tool, it’s completely normal to see 0 cards in your Step 1 deck. This is actually by design with the AnKing Step Deck - all cards are suspended when you first install it.
Why You’re Seeing 0 Cards
The AnKing Step Deck comes with all cards suspended by default. This is intentional so that you can selectively unsuspend cards as you study different topics, rather than being overwhelmed with thousands of cards at once.
How to Start Using Your Cards:
- Go to the Browse screen
- On the left-hand side, navigate to Tags
- Find and expand the tag you want to study (for example, #AK_Step1_V12)
- Click on a card that you want to study
- Right-click → Toggle Suspend (or press Ctrl+J/Cmd+J)
You should now start seeing blue cards appear on your main Anki screen. You can repeat this process for any subjects or topics you’re currently studying (like Pathoma, Boards & Beyond, etc.).
Recommended Approach:
The best way to use the AnKing Step Deck is to unsuspend cards as you cover topics in your courses. This way, you’re only reviewing relevant material rather than trying to memorize everything at once.
