Did you protect the fields on AnkiHub? Here’s a tutorial: How to Manage Protected Fields.

When you protect a field on the AnkiHub webpage, it will no longer receive updates. This applies to all cards. Because of that, we have the fields “Lecture Notes” and “Missed Questions”, which will never receive updates, so you can safely protect them and use them for personal notes.

The “Extra” field, however, can receive updates. If you really want to protect it, you can do so only for a specific card:

  1. Right-click on a card

  2. Select the desired field

    If your cards are blank, you may have accidentally protected your fields on AnkiHub. Here’s how to fix this:
  • Go to your deck on AnkiHub
  • Click the 3 dots in the top right corner
  • Select Manage protected data
  • Make sure the text and extra fields are unchecked
  • Save your changes
  • In Anki desktop, go to Browse → click AnkiHub at the top → Reset local changes
  1. Empty Cards
    If the above doesn’t work, try this:
  • Go to Tools in Anki
  • Click on Empty Cards
  • Click Delete (leave the box ticked)
