Image Occlusion Not Working Properly

Hello,

I am having trouble with my anking deck image occlusion cards. For some reason, there are no occlusions popping up on my cards for algorithms.

For example, when I look at the card for “Blunt abdominal trauma management algorithm”:

This is the front of the card

This the back of the card immediately after I flip it over (there are no boxes occluding any of the text).

I have the Anking Note Types Easy Customization and Closet for Anki addons added.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

@Sameem

Hello,

Can you reset local changes to that note by going to that note in browse → right click → reset local changes?

Have you altered the AnKing note types in any way?

Hello,

I have reset the local changes to that note and that didn’t fix the issue. I actually have this issue with other algorithm cards too. I have not changed any of the settings on the Anking note types.

I’ve seen this issue happening before as well. It has nothing to do with the card type, somehow the app itself isn’t able to read the clozes.

@ealiberman can you please try doing the same card from you phone/ipad to see if the issue persists?

Did anyone find a fix for this? im having this problem still

I am having the same issue with the same card, was there a fix?

Hello,

Please follow these steps:

  1. Download this add-on: https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/952691989
  2. After the add-on is installed, please restart Anki.
  3. On your Anki main screen, navigate to AnKing > AnKing Note Types.
  4. In the window that appears, first click the option to reset the notetype, and then click to check for updates. Be sure to save your changes.

Let us know if you continue to experience this issue.

Hi, I am still experiencing this issue even after completing the steps you recommend!

Hey, thank you for reaching out, can you let me know your Anki version and your operating system, and if it is happening only on your PC or also on mobile.

Hi! Version ⁨25.02.6 (6381f184)⁩ and macOS 15.5. It’s not working on either.

Can you go to your Anki browser > top bar > AnkiHub > Reset local changes to the deck
[warning: this will overwrite any unprotected tags, if you have them]

Once you do the above steps, then close Anki, then open it while holding the shift key and then check if the cards work.

if that works, then there might be an add-on conflict. Let me know the result.
