Hello, I recently updated the AnKing Deck Customization update that happened a couple weeks ago. I don’t remember it specifically now but I believe I either resetted the note types or updated the note types post update and now I can’t view the clozes hiding portions of the image when I review cards. For example I have many IO one by one cards for mechanisms for organic chemistry. When one such cards comes up in my reviews it only shows the images without the clozes like so:
The image should look like this:
Checking the edits in the browser showed that nothing in the clozes themselves changed:
But here’s another interesting detail I noted. When I try to preview the above card through the browser the same issue occurs where the clozes don’t appear:
But when within the browser I cycle through the cards by clicking through the next cards and go back to the original IO one by one card of interest, the clozes come back.
I would like to mention this again that this occurred post update and I’m not sure whether it was because I resetted the cards or because I updated the cards after the addon got updated. Any help to resolve this issue would be appreciated.
Hmm, that is odd. I can’t say I’ve seen that myself, and to the best of my knowledge we haven’t heard from anyone else experiencing the same thing. I can see why it would be concerning for sure, though.
Let’s see if we can get you squared away:
If you can, from your main screen click on ‘AnKing Note Types’ here:
Then, navigate toward the IO-one by one note type, and click reset:
From there, restart your Anki. Then, try to review one of those cards again and let me know if that does the trick. If so, great. If not, we’ll keep digging.
I resetted it. Unfortunately that showed no change. It’s the same state as before.
Is this an AnkiHub deck/card, or a personal deck/card?
Can you show me the name of the note type?
From the reviewer, you can hit ‘e’ or ‘b’ and then you’re looking for a button that says ‘Cards’:

The note type should display at the top of the card (below is an example):

The card is a personal card. It is specifically either an IO one by one card or a Physio IO one by one card. I was unable to find the note type thing you were looking for.
If you can find the note type, that would be helpful. Especially since it’s a personal card, rather than an existing card in an AnkiHub deck, it will be more challenging to figure out what’s going on with the note without knowing the note type to which it belongs.
If you can snag that info, it should make life a lot easier.

Here I believe this is the card type you were discussing?
Should be a little bit off to the side from that panel, I believe:
Looks like you might be using this note type, yeah?
I would give a shot trying to reset that note type, in the same way that we reset the other one a few minutes ago. Again here, you’ll click ‘Reset’ at the bottom and you’ll have to restart Anki.
Let me know how that goes.
Oh I already did that. I know that I have a combination of both of these note types. The issue is still persisting.
Kk, a couple of things:
When you click on ‘General’ here:
Do you have an option to reset, and/or update?
Second: do you know what version of Anki you’re running?
This is what my general page looks like:
And I’m running the most recent version of Anki.
Can you try hitting ‘reset’ there as well, just for kicks? Might as well eliminate that as a potential source, while we’re at it
And just to confirm: which version number of Anki is it?
Here’s the version of Anki.
I also did the whole reset and that didn’t help out the problem either.
I’m sorry to say I’m fairly out of ideas, atm. I’ve not seen this issue before, nor have I seen or heard from anyone else that has, so I’m not immediately certain what the cause, or solution, might be.
I’ll go ahead and flag this and see if one of my colleagues can take a look, and perhaps they’ll have some greater insight than I.
thank you for the help you’ve been able to give me. Hopefully this issue can be resolved because I have dozens of IO one by one cards.

I’m confident we can eventually get you squared away. I’m sorry to say that I’m just at a loss, as this may involve some note type details that are a bit outside the reach of my expertise.
I’ve gone ahead and flagged another colleague to take a look at this for you, and hopefully we can resolve the issue/s at hand and get you back into ship shape in short order.
IO one by one cards unfortunately suffer from weird issues because they depend on an unmaintained add-on (Closet). We got a report of this and I’ll look into it soon: IO-one by one issues · Issue #223 · AnKing-VIP/AnKing-Note-Types · GitHub
