It looks like you’re having an issue with the Image Occlusion “one by one” feature in Anki. From the video you shared, it appears that when you try to name a tab in the Image Occlusion editor, something unexpected is happening.

This seems to be an issue with the Image Occlusion editor interface in your version of Anki. Here are some suggestions to help resolve your problem:

Possible Solutions:

  1. Try updating Anki: Make sure you’re using the latest version of Anki (currently recommended version is 24.06.1 Qt6).

  2. Restart Anki: Sometimes simply closing and reopening the application can fix temporary glitches.

  3. Alternative Method: If you can’t edit the tab names directly, you might try:

    • Creating the IO card without custom tab names first
    • Then editing the card afterward to add your custom text
  4. Check Add-on Conflicts: If you have other add-ons installed, they might conflict with the Image Occlusion functionality. Try temporarily disabling other add-ons to see if that resolves the issue.

For More Information:

For more details about using Image Occlusion and the “one by one” feature, you might find this FAQ post about one-by-one cards helpful. It explains that “one by one” cards allow you to sequentially open each cloze to memorize things in order.

If the issue persists after trying these solutions, could you provide more information about your Anki version and any add-ons you’re using? This would help to better diagnose the problem.

Problem started after i updated anki to the latest version everything was fine before that and none of these methods helped i still can’t do it

This are add ons im using but these shouldn’t be a problem cause it worked fine before i updated anki.

I understand that this problem started after updating to the latest version of Anki and that it was working fine before. Let me help you troubleshoot this Image Occlusion issue.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Try Safe Mode:
Restart Anki while holding down the shift key. This will temporarily disable all add-ons. Try creating an Image Occlusion card in this mode to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if it’s truly an add-on conflict caused by the update.

  2. Check for Known Issues:
The native Image Occlusion feature in recent Anki versions (introduced in 23.10+) might have some bugs that weren’t present in older versions or the standalone IO add-on.

  3. Reinstall Anki:
If safe mode doesn’t help, try a clean reinstall of Anki:

    • Back up your collection first
    • Uninstall Anki
    • Delete the Anki program folder (to remove any leftover files)
    • Install the latest version again
  4. Try a Different Keyboard/Input Method:
Sometimes input method issues can cause unexpected behavior. Try changing your keyboard language or input method temporarily.

  5. Check Keyboard Shortcuts:
Make sure there are no keyboard shortcut conflicts in your system that might be intercepting your keystrokes when trying to name tabs.

If none of these solutions work, you might need to temporarily downgrade to the previous version of Anki that was working for you until this issue is fixed in a future update.

Would you be able to specify which exact version of Anki you updated from and to? This information could help identify if this is a known issue with the latest release.

The Closet add-on doesn’t work on the latest Anki version. We’re working on incorporating the IO feature into our note types add-on.

Okay thank you very much <3.
