Issue with iOS answer delay

My apologies in advance if this is the wrong place for this message, or if it has already been asked previously.

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been noticing a significant delay (~10 seconds) in both the time it takes to display an answer after I tap to reveal the answer, as well as the time it takes to register my answer choice (e.g., again, hard, good, easy) and move onto the next card, while using Anki on my iPhone. I have tried to delete the app and re-sync to no avail. This is not a problem on my MacBook Pro.

Today, I noticed that this bug was only occurring in cards with the “AnKing Overhaul (AnKing / AnKingMed)” note type, so I suspect that this issue might be related to one of the recent note type updates that was released in the past few weeks.

Anyone else have a similar experience, and if so, any advice? Thanks a bunch!

Does this occur on every card? Or only on some specific cards?

On my phone, it’s been working fine with no lag

Your back template is duplicated thousands of times: It has around 517 thousand lines :sweat_smile:

No idea how that happened. I confirmed it’s not coming from AnkiHub thankfully.

Resetting the note type using the AnKing notetypes add-on doesn’t work unfortunately; it actually makes it worse… I’m going to look into that.

You can fix the issue by copying the front/back templates from here, pasting them in the Card Templates screen, and syncing with AnkiWeb:

@abdo.nh Looks like that fixed the issue. Not sure where I went awry, as the issue seems to have emerged out of nowhere. In any case, thanks so much for your help!
