AnKing Deck and Subdecks
Hi Fbwlgus5066,
You’re noticing that the AnKing Step deck in AnkiHub doesn’t display subdecks like other versions you’ve seen. This is actually expected behavior with AnkiHub.
Why There Are No Subdecks in AnkiHub’s AnKing Deck
AnkiHub initially didn’t support subdecks when it was released, and due to the complexity of the AnKing deck, subdecks haven’t been implemented in the AnkiHub version. Instead, the AnKing team uses tags for organization rather than subdecks.
How to Study Specific Subjects
The good news is that all the original subdeck information is preserved in the form of tags! You can study specific subjects by:
- Going to the Browse screen in Anki
- Looking at the left sidebar under Tags
- Finding the tags that start with #AK_Original_Decks which contains all the original subdeck information
- You can also find subject organization under tags like #AK_Step1_V12, #AK_Step2_V12, etc.
You can create filtered decks based on these tags to study specific subjects.
Getting Subdecks for AnKing
If you really prefer the subdeck structure, there is a workaround:
- Install AnKing V11 from Reddit with all the subdecks
- Then download V12 through AnkiHub by Subscribing to a deck
AnkiHub will update the cards but won’t overwrite the subdeck structure from V11.
Let me know if you need help with any of these steps!
