Not able to save the style of the cards

I’m using Anki in dark mode, but I don’t like the magenta color in the “Extra” section after pressing the answer button.

To change the color, I went to the Styling section under Cards, modified the color, and then synced and restarted Anki. However, every time I close and reopen the app, the color resets to magenta.

I’ve repeated this process around ten times, but the issue persists.

Could you suggest how I can make this change permanent?

Hello,

I’d be happy to help.

It is indeed the case that most of the code-level changes to the note type formatting are protected by the AnkiHub add-on, and so will be reverted upon sync.

In order to make more lasting changes to various bits of card formatting it will be necessary to use the AnKing Note Types add-on (https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/952691989), which can be installed with this code: 952691989

Once you’ve installed that, you can click here from your top menu bar:

That should bring you to a new options menu, from which you can select your note type and what you’d like to adjust:

From there you should be able to click save, restart Anki, and your changes should take place.

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.

First of all, Thank you so muchh!

but still i am not able to do some basic changes like changing “Extra” field font style from italic to normal; Changing font alignment from center to left

how can i do that?
i tried in the “styling the card” and changed the code, but as usual it disappears when i close my anki and re-open it. How to permanently change these changes that i mentioned?

Hmm, I’m sorry to say that honestly at that point you’re probably dealing with CSS code which is beyond my knowledge range

You can go to ‘Styling’ and scroll down and there is this section:

In theory, you can make changes down here that may not be modified by AnkiHub, though you might have to take a stab at it. This is really beyond my expertise so I’m mostly hazarding a guess here, tbh

Maybe @abdo.nh will have some bright ideas or recommendations (he is far more expert in such things than I)

Options changed from the interface shouldn’t be reset on restart. Does using the Update notetypes or Reset options in the notetypes add-on help?
