With the new B&B tags that came out some time in December, and including the one that got pushed Jan. 15 2025, the B&B tags have become extremely inefficient to use. For example, the B&B Diabetes video now has 262 cards associated with it. 3 GI videos have almost 600-700 cards. The card count for renal has almost doubled. The general sentiment on this forum and on the medschoolanki subreddit is that these tags at least need an option to be reverted.
The tags are FAR too liberal. I understand there being Step 1 and Step 2 overlap, but it makes no sense that each B&B video has like 200+ cards in it. I now have to figure out some way of getting the only relevant cards out of these tags, which defeats the whole purpose/workflow of watch video → unsuspend cards.
I very much appreciate the work you all do, but this tag change is such a drastic change that completely changes the workflow and workload of watching B&B and unsuspending cards, and I think it needs to be optional. I had to turn off syncing with AnkiHub because I didn’t know how many more cards were going to be added, and at which point, what’s now the point of subscribing?

Thank you! Many of us primarily use B&B tags to study and have been unable to use Anki efficiently since the update, especially with those who have exams right around the corner. Thanks for the responses and your help through this!
This reduced card counts by a lot and made them back to around how much they used to have originally. We also removed any Step 2 cards that had the tag “Only_step_2” in them from Step 1 cards.
