Hi,
I am new to Anki and have purchased the AnkiHub MCAT deck.
I have a profile titled MCAT and it includes the AnkiHub MCAT deck.
I also wanted to make my own cards as well while studying, wanted to know if there is a ruling on it; if i should switch profiles or is it fine to do it within the same profile that includes the AnkiHub MCAT deck. Also can we edit the subscribed deck and add things on or is it best to make our own. Wanted to know the guidelines regarding this, like our own cards vs. those of AnkiHub, whats shared/public to others if its the subscribed cards or all of the ones including ones I would want to make. Thank you!!!

Hello,
You should, in most cases, not use separate profiles. You can just create a separate deck, or subdeck, to add your own cards.
You can edit the existing Anking MCAT cards as well, though edits may be overwritten by Ankihub unless you protect those fields. If you plan on editing Ankihub cards consistently you will likely want to protect the fields that you plan on editing. This tutorial can walk you through how to do that: Managing Protected Fields
Please let me know if that answers your question, and if thereβs anything else I can help with.
Thank you for your response! So the deck that I can include within the same profile will just be accessed by me then?
If itβs a deck that you make then it is only yours; Ankihub cannot affect cards that you create it can only affect cards that come from Ankihub.
Sounds great! Thank you so much for your help, I appreciate it!!
