Question about Adding Images and Text from Specific Fields from Someone Else's Deck

I want to import notes that my friend has taken from an online resource that we both use extensively. My friend has already pasted text and images from these notes into a specific field on his Anki Deck. I tried using the special fields add-on to import their notes from a specific field into my Anki deck, while protecting every field in my deck except the one that I want updated, but when I use the special fields add-on, it gives the error message “Unable to read file. It probably requires a newer version of Anki to import.” For reference, my deck is on Anking V11 and my friend’s deck is on Anking V11. I intend to add these notes to my Anki deck before updating to Anking V12 and protecting this field.
For reference, the names of the fields are the same and the Anking notetypes are the same in both our decks.

I would appreciate any help on how to do this correctly!

Hello,

This has to do with your Anki version, not AnkiHub or AnKing versions.

Your friend, when exporting will have to tick the option that says “support older versions”

Or your friend can update their Anki to a newer version and that could fix it

The Special Fields add-on is not compatible with files exported using newer Anki versions, unless if you toggle on the option to support older versions as @Ahmed7 said.
