V11 transfer media (like first aid click box)

Hello, I am having trouble importing the first aid media from v11 to my new v12 deck. I tried to follow steps in previous posts and unprotected on ankihub under the new stepdeck under manage protected data all except lecture, missed, path, and bnb. I then went to my Anki and clicked sync to ankhub and then did the import media files which I previously exported from my v11, but it said 0 media files exported

I still cannot see the first aid images like I had in v11 and would love that click box to sho up

I’ll help you troubleshoot the issue with transferring First Aid media from V11 to V12. Let me search for relevant information that might help solve your problem.

Hello! I see you’re having trouble importing First Aid media from V11 to your V12 deck. Let me help you with this issue.

Why Your Media Import Shows 0 Files

Looking at your screenshots, I can see that you’re trying to import media but getting a “0 media files imported” message. This usually happens when:

  1. The media files aren’t properly located in the folder you’re importing from
  2. The media is already in your collection
  3. There’s an issue with how the fields are protected/unprotected

Here’s How to Fix It:

1. Ensure Fields Are Properly Unprotected

You mentioned unprotecting fields on AnkiHub (except lecture, missed, path, and bnb), which is good. However, for First Aid images specifically, make sure the First Aid field is definitely unprotected.

2. Try a Different Import Method

Instead of importing from an export file, try importing directly from a folder:

  1. Go to the AnkiHub Addon in the menu bar
  2. Click “Import Media”
  3. Select “Local Folder” option
  4. Browse to the folder where your V11 media is stored (not the export file)
  5. Click Import

3. Reset Local Changes After Unprotecting

After unprotecting the First Aid field, you may need to:

  1. Go to Browse in Anki
  2. Click on AnkiHub addon tab at the top
  3. Press “Reset all local changes”

4. Check Media Files Location

Make sure your V11 media export actually contains the First Aid images. You can verify this by:

  1. Extracting the media export if it’s compressed
  2. Looking for image files with names that might relate to First Aid

Important Note

First Aid images are not automatically included with the AnkiHub deck due to copyright considerations. As mentioned in the documentation, “Images found in the First Aid and Additional Resources fields of past decks may or may not be covered by third-party copyrights.”

If you continue to have issues, please let me know which specific export method you used from V11 and I can provide more targeted assistance.

Hello,

I would be happy to help, though unfortunately we’re not able to be of much assistance with older media packs owing to copyright issues with proprietary material/s.

If there’s anything else we can help with, though, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Happy to be of help otherwise as best we can. :mending_heart:
