Sketchy images not showing

Media sync appears idle so I imagine it has already finished downloading, and I have already tried to reset all local changes to the deck, what can I do to fix this?

Based on the information from the forum, it looks like you’re having issues with Sketchy images not displaying in your AnkiHub deck. Let me help you troubleshoot this problem:

Possible Solutions for Missing Sketchy Images

  1. Verify Media Sync Status
Since you mentioned that media sync appears idle, it suggests the download has completed. However, sometimes the sync process might have encountered issues.

  2. Try These Additional Troubleshooting Steps:

    • Check if you’re subscribed to the correct official deck: Make sure you’re using the official version, especially if this is an AnKing deck. You can verify official decks here.

    • Generate media files: Try using Tools > Check Media in Anki Desktop. This can help generate any missing media files that might not have been properly processed.

    • Verify field protection: For AnKing decks, AnkiHub downloads media for specific fields including Sketchy. Make sure these fields are properly protected. You can check your protected fields by following the guide here.

    • Try a more comprehensive reset: Since you’ve already tried resetting local changes, try a more thorough approach:

      1. Go to Browse
      2. Select the AnkiHub add-on menu
      3. Choose “Reset local changes”
      4. Select your specific deck
      5. Make sure to sync with AnkiWeb after the reset is complete
    • Check your media folder: You might want to examine your Anki media folder to see if the Sketchy images are actually there but not displaying properly.

If these steps don’t resolve your issue, you might want to provide additional details about your specific deck and any error messages you’re seeing, so the community can provide more targeted assistance.

That is what the app shows me when i Try to check media, also I have tried to reset local changes, Btw the link to field protection doesn´t work so no idea how to do that

Hello,

I know it can be a bit confusing, but the “missing media” warning doesn’t necessarily mean any files are actually missing.

Let’s try a few things:

First, please make sure the ‘Sketchy’ field is not protected on AnkiHub. This tutorial explains how to do that: How to Manage Protected Fields

After that, try resetting your local changes by following this guide: How to Reset Local Changes

If the issue persists, please also try the following:

  1. Update Anki: Go to https://apps.ankiweb.net/ to download and install the latest version.
  2. Update the AnkiHub add-on: On your Anki main screen, go to Tools > Add-ons > Check for Updates, and then restart Anki.

Also, could you please send me a screenshot of a card where the Sketchy image is missing? This will help me get a better look at what’s happening.

Let me know how it goes!

Yes, im sorry i wasn´t clear is not only the message when I do a media check, but there are actual image files missing when I review cards ( I can see there was suppossed to be an image there because of the icon but there isnt any). Updating seemed to do the trick actually. Thank you very much
