Unable to Suspend Anking Cards

I downloaded the Anking deck earlier today and had no problems in downloading. However, when I attempt to unsuspend a card or a tag, the relevant cards appear to unsuspend in the “Browse” tab, but no cards show up on the main page under “New”. Additionally, when I view the deck overview after unsuspending these tags, the cards do not appear to unsuspend here either.

Thank you for reaching out about your issue with the AnKing deck! This is a common confusion when first starting with the AnKing deck, so let me help you troubleshoot:

Why Your Cards Aren’t Showing Up

The AnKing deck comes with all cards suspended by default. When you unsuspend cards in the browser, they should appear in your “New” queue, but there are a few things to check:

1. Make Sure You’re in “Card” View (Not “Note” View)

  • In the Browser, check that you’re viewing “Cards” rather than “Notes”
  • Look at the top of the browser window for this setting

2. Verify the Cards Are Actually Unsuspended

  • Cards that are unsuspended should not have a line through them in the browser
  • The counter in the deck overview should show the number of unsuspended cards

3. Check Daily New Card Limits

  • Make sure your deck settings have a reasonable “New cards/day” limit
  • If set to zero, no new cards will appear even if unsuspended

4. Look for Card Burying

  • Anki has a feature called “burying” that can hide sibling cards until the next day
  • Check your deck options to see if sibling burying is enabled

How to Get Started with the AnKing Deck

  1. Go to Browse
  2. On the left-hand side, go to tags
  3. Find the tag you want to use (for example, #AK_Step1_V12)
  4. Select the cards you want to unsuspend
  5. Right-click and select “Toggle Suspend”

After unsuspending, you should see these cards appear in your “New” count on the main screen.
