For AnkiHub, you generally want to use a current, stable desktop version of Anki that is compatible with the AnkiHub add-on.

As of now:

  • Anki 25.02 is very new and may not yet be fully tested with all add‑ons, including AnkiHub.
  • AnkiHub’s documentation and support typically recommend using the latest stable Anki version that is confirmed to work with AnkiHub (often slightly behind the absolute newest Anki release).

Because versions move quickly, the safest approach is:

  1. Go to the AnkiHub add-on page in AnkiWeb or AnkiHub’s docs/changelog.
  2. Check what maximum supported Anki version they list (or which versions people report as working in recent forum posts).
  3. If 25.02 is not explicitly listed as supported, I’d recommend:
    • Downgrading to the latest version that is confirmed to work with AnkiHub (commonly a recent 23/24 series build, depending on current support notes), and
    • Waiting until AnkiHub posts that 25.02 is fully supported.

If you’d like, reply with:

  • Your operating system (Windows/Mac/Linux), and
  • Whether you’re using any other critical add-ons,

and I can suggest a specific Anki version that’s more likely to be stable with AnkiHub right now.

On macOS, the main thing is matching your Anki version to what AnkiHub currently supports, rather than using the very newest Anki build.

Because I don’t see an up‑to‑date ā€œofficial supported versionsā€ topic in the forum search, I can’t say with certainty that 25.02 is fully supported yet.

Here’s what I’d do next:

  1. Check AnkiHub’s official add‑on/docs page

    • Look for a line like ā€œTested with Anki x.xx+ā€ or ā€œCompatible with Anki versionsā€¦ā€.
    • If 25.02 isn’t explicitly listed, it’s safer to use the latest version they do list.
  2. If you need maximum stability on Mac right now

    • Install the latest Anki version one step behind 25.02 that AnkiHub explicitly confirms as working (often a recent 23/24 series build).
    • Download it from the official Anki download page under ā€œOlder versionsā€ if needed.
    • Then install the AnkiHub add‑on and make sure sync, editing, and updating shared decks all work.
  3. Watch this forum

    • Keep an eye on new posts in the :person_raising_hand: Support category mentioning ā€œ25.02ā€ or ā€œ25.xā€ and AnkiHub compatibility.
    • Once users/devs confirm no major issues, you can safely upgrade.

If you tell me:

  • Your macOS version (e.g., Sonoma/Ventura/Monterey)
  • Which big AnkiHub deck(s) you’re using (e.g., AnKing Overhaul, Step 1/2, etc.)

I can give a more concrete recommendation like ā€œInstall Anki x.xx from the official download page and stick with that for now.ā€

Hello,

I would be happy to help.

It’s always advisable to be on the most stable recent release. Atm that’s 25.09

You can always download the latest version of Anki at the official Anki website: https://apps.ankiweb.net/

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.

25.09 it is. Thank you!

I am getting this now when I open anki. What do I do now?

Nevermind. I figured it out. Sorry for the inconvenience
