No worries at all, that’s an easy mistake to make.
To help you sync the AnKing deck with your local Anki via AnkiHub, I need a tiny bit more detail about where you’re stuck. There are two common situations:
1. You already subscribed to the AnKing deck on AnkiHub
If you’ve clicked “Subscribe” on the AnKing deck on the AnkiHub website:
Open Anki on your computer.
Make sure you’re logged into AnkiWeb in Anki (top right: Sync → enter AnkiWeb details if needed).
In Anki, go to Tools → Add-ons → AnkiHub → Config and confirm you’re logged into AnkiHub there as well.
In the menu bar, click AnkiHub → Sync.
If this is your first time syncing this deck:
AnkiHub will download the deck.
You may be asked to map note types or confirm importing; accept the defaults unless you know you changed something.
Tell me what happens at step 4–5:
Does the deck appear?
Do you get an error message? If yes, what does it say?
2. You have the AnKing deck locally but it’s not yet linked to AnkiHub
If you already imported an .apkg of AnKing before installing AnkiHub:
Confirm you’re subscribed to the same AnKing deck on the AnkiHub website.
In Anki, open the Browser, select a card from the AnKing deck.
In the top menu, choose AnkiHub → Link Notes to AnkiHub Deck.
Select the correct AnkiHub AnKing deck and follow the prompts.
After linking, run AnkiHub → Sync.
Again, note any error messages you see.
Please reply with:
Which of the two situations above matches you (1 or 2)?
Your:
Anki version (from Help → About)
Operating system (Windows/macOS/Linux)
Any error text or screenshots you see when you try to sync.
Once I have that, I can give you step‑by‑step instructions tailored to your exact setup.
If the AnKing deck appears but is empty, it usually means the deck shell was created but the notes were never linked/downloaded correctly. Let’s walk through the most likely fixes.
Step 1 – Confirm subscription on AnkiHub
Go to the AnKing deck page on the AnkiHub website (in your browser).
Make sure the button says “Subscribed” (not “Subscribe”).
If it’s not subscribed, click Subscribe, then go back to Anki and try AnkiHub → Sync again.
Step 2 – Are you starting from a fresh profile or from an existing AnKing deck?
Please pick the situation that matches you:
A. Fresh profile / no AnKing cards previously
In Anki desktop:
Top menu: AnkiHub → Sync.
Wait a bit; for a big deck like AnKing, downloading all notes can take some time.
Watch for any pop‑up dialogs:
Mapping note types
Confirming download, etc.
If the sync finishes instantly and the deck is still empty:
Go to AnkiHub → Show Log (if available) and see if there’s any error text.
Let me know exactly what appears during sync (any messages, progress bar, etc.).
B. You previously imported an AnKing .apkg
If you had AnKing cards before using AnkiHub, you need to link them:
Make sure you’re subscribed to the AnKing deck on the AnkiHub website.
In Anki, open the Browse window.
In the left panel, select the AnKing deck that has your cards (the one that should contain your cards).
Select at least one card in that deck.
Top menu: AnkiHub → Link Notes to AnkiHub Deck.
Choose the correct AnkiHub AnKing deck from the list, follow the prompts.
After it completes, run AnkiHub → Sync again.
If this works, you should now see all your cards in the deck.
What I need from you next
Please reply with:
Whether you’re in case A (fresh) or B (already had AnKing).
What exactly happens when you click AnkiHub → Sync:
Any dialog boxes?
Any error message or log output?
Your:
Anki version
Operating system (Windows/macOS/Linux)
With that info, I can give you very specific next steps to get the cards actually showing up in the deck.
The deck is not categorized into sebdecks. go to browse tab and on left you can see different tags with drop down for more precise tag. initially all of them are suspended, so select the one you want to study and unsuspend it. Note: it might take a lot of time depending of your internet to download the media files and you might not see them, make sure the media sync says idle in the ankihub add on on top in decks tab.
I fixed it by resetting all local changes to the deck. It was accidental find. So for anyone reading this, try it and thank me later for saving you time.
