Hi everyone, I just made a fresh profile on anki and downloaded a brand new AK step deck to prep for Step 2.
I am trying to only study the Step 2 Zanki deck, but I am only getting 2753 cards within that deck, while some of my peers (also with ankihub subscriptions) have 5k+.
Anyone know what the issue is?

Try this:
Please try resetting your local changes. To do this:
Go to browse in your Anki → at the top click on the ankihub addon tab → press reset all local changes
This will restore everything to what AnkiHub has unless you have specifically protected those fields
Did that on a prior attempt without success, this is a completely new profile with all default settings and untouched decks too 
Is it possible that the Step 2 Zanki Deck only has 2753 cards? (highly doubtful)
This tag (tag:#AK_Step2_v12::Original_decks::Zanki_Step_2) should have 5,322 cards
What Anki version are you currently on?
On your other profile, does that tag show the correct number?

no, I have the deck uploaded on 2 profiles(old and new empty profile), and they both only have 2753 cards
Just to eliminate the obvious, can you click on this tag and let us know how many cards it lists as being present:
Should give us an idea if this is a targeted issue with the Zanki tag specifically, or if there is potentially a more global issue afoot.
