Reading: How to Manage Protected Fields
Hi Amwalls!
To remove those third-party resource fields from your review display, youāll need to use AnkiHubās āprotecting fieldsā feature. This will let you maintain your own version of these fields (including empty ones) without them being overwritten by AnkiHub updates.
Hereās how to hide those resource fields:
Method 1: Protect fields for all cards
- Go to the AnkiHub website
- Navigate to the main page of your deck
- Click the 3 dots in the top right corner
- Select āManage protected dataā
- Check the boxes next to the resource fields you want to protect (like SketchyPath, Pixorize, etc.)
- After protecting the fields, you can clear their content in Ankiās browser, and theyāll stay empty
Method 2: Protect fields for specific cards
If you only want to hide these fields on certain cards:
- In Ankiās browser, find and select the cards you want to modify
- Right-click and select āAnkiHub: Protect Fieldsā
- Choose the fields you want to protect
- Then empty those fields
Additional tips:
- For AnKing decks, several fields are automatically protected (Lecture Notes, Missed Questions, Pathoma, BnB, First Aid, Additional Resources, Physeo)
- The Text, Extra, Sketchy, and Pixorize fields are not automatically protected
- After protecting fields, make sure to sync with AnkiHub to preserve your changes
