All of my tags disappeared?

I’ve been adding my incorrect cards with incorrect uworld tags and all of my uworld tags disappeared recently after a recent sync with ankihub. Why did this happen and how do i get my tags back?

I tagged like half a thousand anki cards :frowning: and spent several weeks doing this! Please help…

When you sync with AnkiHub, local changes to cards can sometimes be overwritten if those changes conflict with updates from the AnkiHub server. Tags are particularly vulnerable to this since they’re not protected by default.

How to Recover Your Tags

The good news is that you might be able to recover your tags by using Anki’s built-in backup system. Here’s what you can try:

Option 1: Reset local changes (if you want the tags but not other changes)

If you want to keep your tags but revert other changes:

Without more context, it’s hard to say. Had you protected these tags? Were these tags on AnKing cards, or your personal cards?

But, you can always restore from a backup. Anki makes backups periodically, and automatically, numerous times a day. Takes just a few seconds:
