Today, I synced my anking deck and all my protected tags disappeared. I use these tags to make filtered decks to study for specific shelf exams. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you.

In order to restore something like this that has been lost it will likely be necessary to restore from a backup. A basic tutorial can be found here: How to Restore From Backup

I discovered my error. Instead of using spaced between my protected tags on the ankihub website, I was using commas (which was either old instructions, or I misread instructions).

Hi there, I am having the same problem of my protected tags going missing. When I recently downloaded anking after using the free deck for quite some time, 300+ cards tagged specifically for my in house lectures disappeared. If I restore from a back up from before I downloaded the new anking deck, will I lose all my progress? How can I get my tags back?
Hello,
Reverting from a backup will restore your collection to the exact point in time when the backup was made. This means everything will be restored to how it was at that moment, including your tags, cards and your progress.
