Anki forgets my card settings every time I sync

I change the card settings, so that minutes below are at 99 (I don’t like seeing the timer). I click save. But everytime after syncing, it forgets and goes back to 0. It use to save and not change back to default.

// Timer config (timer length, timer finished message)

var minutes = 0

var seconds = 9

var timeOverMsg = “!

!

!
”

Thanks, is this for an older anki version? Can’t seem to find the right settings on my end. Also, I want to change the command so that first aid pictures show up automatically on the back of the card without me having to click on the button. I change it from “false” to “true” but after each sync, it reverts back

Nope, current version.

Do you have the Ankihub addon installed? The tutorial has images for each step

Are you using the Anking Note Types addon?

I do have Ankihub add on but not Anking Note Types add on.

I just came across this post and see the suggestion that jakub made.

I just want to clarify that I’ll still be receiving updates if the card gets changed by AnKing, but my customizations wont.

It depends on how you have set up your cards/fields.

For example:

If you protect a given field, say the Extra field, any customizations you make to that field will not be changed by Ankihub. However, because that field is protected you will not receive any updates to that field.

If you do not protect a given field, any customizations you make to that will are likely to be changed by Ankihub. This means that you can receive updates from Ankihub but you cannot guarantee the protection of any personal edits you make to that field.

The Missed Questions and Lecture Notes fields are, by default, protected for the use of personal edits and can avoid this conundrum to some degree.

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with. :slight_smile:
