Anki not syncing, says "no active membership"

I recently purchased the annual membership for Ankihub and logged into the Ankihub add-on. When I hit Sync, it says that I have new Ankihub decks to install, but when I hit install, it gives an error message stating that “the action you are trying to perform requires an active membership”. I did confirm that I was charged for the annual membership.


We are currently investigating an issue regarding active subscription status.

This is also happening to me! I just got the monthly plan today and am getting the same message when attempting to download the step deck

Is it still not working for you?

Hi, I am not able to sync. my sync button is red. and once clicked, it says sync cancelled. I pay the monthly $5.

To fix this,

  1. Create a deck in Anki and name it anything
  2. Go to add cards and add a card to the new deck you just created
  3. Sync
