AnkiHub deck not fully loading

Hi everyone!

I am new to the AnkiHub community however I have been using Anki for about a year now. I am trying to use the EndeavorOverhaul deck for PA school however when I download the deck and it loads onto the Anki app it only shows that there are 362 new cards available when i set the limit to new cards to 9999. I was wondering if anyone knows what is going on or if there is a way to fix this issue? I have attached a screenshot to this post. I have already tried deleting the deck and redownloading it. I have version 25.02 and I have tried the reseting local settings and checked for any suspended cards. Thank you so much for any help you can offer.

Hi @ergispaho! Welcome to the AnkiHub community!

It looks like you’re experiencing an issue with the EndeavorOverhaul deck showing fewer cards than expected. This is likely because many of the cards in the deck are suspended by default.

Why this happens

Many AnkiHub decks (including specialized decks like EndeavorOverhaul) come with cards suspended by default. This is a common practice to help users manage their study load by letting them selectively unsuspend cards as needed, rather than being overwhelmed with thousands of cards at once.

How to see all cards

Here’s how to view and unsuspend the cards in your deck:

  1. Go to the Browse screen in Anki
  2. Make sure you’re viewing “Cards” and not “Notes” (check the dropdown in the browser)
  3. Select your EndeavorOverhaul deck in the left sidebar
  4. You can see all cards, including suspended ones (suspended cards appear in yellow)
  5. To unsuspend cards:
    • Select the cards you want to study
    • Right-click and choose “Toggle Suspend” (or use the shortcut)

Check for filtered content

Also check if the deck uses tags to organize content. You might need to:

  1. Go to the Browse screen
  2. Look at the tags section on the left
  3. Find relevant tags for your PA school content
  4. Unsuspend cards with those specific tags

Additional tips

  • Make sure your new card limit in the deck options isn’t restricting what you see
  • You can create custom study sessions or filtered decks to work with specific subsets of cards
  • The card count showing in your screenshot (362) is just what’s currently available to study based on your settings and suspended status

Let me know if unsuspending cards resolves your issue or if you need more specific guidance!

I tried all of these steps and it is still not working

I’ll help you troubleshoot this issue further. Let’s try some additional steps to identify why your EndeavorOverhaul deck isn’t showing all cards.

Hi @ergispaho,

I see you’ve tried the initial troubleshooting steps without success. Let’s try some additional approaches to get your EndeavorOverhaul deck working properly:

Try These Additional Troubleshooting Steps

1. Restart Anki with Add-ons Disabled

Close Anki completely, then restart it while holding down the Shift key. This temporarily disables all add-ons which might be interfering with your deck. If the deck shows more cards in this mode, we know an add-on is causing the issue.

2. Check for Nested Decks/Subdecks

The EndeavorOverhaul deck may use a nested structure with subdecks. In the deck screen, make sure to click on the main parent deck to see all available cards, not just a subdeck.

3. Create a Custom Filtered Deck

This can help you access all cards regardless of their current state:

  1. From the main screen, click “Tools” → “Create Filtered Deck”
  2. In the search field, enter: deck:"EndeavorOverhaul" (use the exact name of your deck)
  3. Set the limit high (like 9999)
  4. Choose “Order added” or another ordering method
  5. Click “Build”

This should create a temporary deck with all available cards from the EndeavorOverhaul deck.

4. Check Browser View Settings

In the browser:

  1. Make sure to select the EndeavorOverhaul deck
  2. Try different search queries:
    • deck:EndeavorOverhaul* (to include subdecks)
    • deck:EndeavorOverhaul is:suspended (to specifically find suspended cards)
  3. Look at the total card count at the bottom of the browser window

5. Check Your Anki Version

Make sure you’re using the latest version of both Anki (25.02) and the AnkiHub add-on. Sometimes synchronization issues can occur with outdated versions.

6. Reset AnkiHub Sync Status

  1. Go to Tools → AnkiHub → Advanced
  2. Try the “Reset local settings” option again, but also try “Reset sync status”
  3. Sync with AnkiHub again

7. Contact AnkiHub Support

If none of these steps work, you may need direct assistance from AnkiHub support. You can email them at support@ankihub.net with details about your issue.

Would you be able to let me know how many total cards you see when viewing the deck in the browser? That might help diagnose the specific issue you’re facing.

Hello,

I would be happy to help.

I’m not super familiar with that particular deck, but have you tried checking the tags from the Browse screen, to see how many cards are listed as being present there?

Additionally, have you double-checked your deck settings and/or suspended cards?

Just to make sure I know what you have, and have not, tried so I know where we’re at. Screenshots are ideal, if you can, just so I can see what you’re seeing
