Thanks for sharing the deck link, that helps.
From how Smart Search currently works (see:
What do I get in AnkiHub Premium? and
What is Smart Search?), a few conditions need to be met before the Smart Search option shows up:
You must have AnkiHub Premium on the account that owns the deck.
Deck must be an AnkiHub deck (not just local in Anki).
Your link is an AnkiHub deck, so that part is fine.
Where to see Smart Search:
Because I canāt see your account status from here, I canāt confirm if you have Premium, but based on your description (owner, public deck, 250 notes, tagged) the most likely reasons itās not showing are:
Please check:
Go to: https://app.ankihub.net/memberships/plans/
While logged into that same account, open your deck again:

then this is likely a bug or an account/deckāflagging issue on our side.
If you can, please reply here with:
With that info, the AnkiHub team can investigate and, if needed, escalate it to dev support.
Hello,
I would be happy to help. ![]()
A couple of things stand out:
First, I donāt show that you are subscribed to any decks on AnkiHub, at the moment
From there, I donāt believe that SmartSearch is functional for personal decks, to the best of my knowledge. Only for decks that are maintained by the AnkiHub team
Please let me know if that answers your question, and if thereās anything else I can help with. ![]()
Thanks for your answer.
After I updated to Premium version, I synced one of my decks from my own Anki app. But it seems like there are no options on Ankihub allowing users to apply smart search or AI features as described in my confirmation email (photo 1 below). I also followed the instruction links in the email, but there are no smart search button like in the tutorial (photo 2 below). Iām really confused how to add these premium features for my personal decks.
That is correct, yeah. SmartSearch is indexed on the AnKing Step deck, specifically, owing to its mappings and is not a feature that is necessarily available for all decks, particularly personal decks uploaded
Some of that has to do with indexing the deck itself, so that it is properly searchable (which is a topic in its own right). There have been conversations about potentially enabling those features for all decks, though at the moment that is still a ways off for active consideration
Please let me know if that answers your question, and if thereās anything else I can help with. ![]()
Thanks. So are there any workarounds to use these features for my personal deck. As my goal is to build a lot of decks for my English studentsā vocabulary learning, not for medical knowledge. I thought these premium features are applicable for all different fields.
Apologies for the delay in response, though hopefully I can try to answer a few questions for you and offer some clarification/s:
We are able, in certain circumstances, to extend the AI-enabled features to some decks. That being said, those features were really built around a couple of AnkiHub-specific flagship decks (largely the AnKing Step deck and MCAT deck). I mention this just to note that the AI features, including SmartSearch, were tuned and designed with certain note types and styles in mind and so they may not be expected to perform equally well on other note types depending on how youāve configured yours (the short version is that there are many different ways to configure notes, though the AI features are unlikely to play well with all possible configurations and so your mileage may vary). Essentially, even if enabled we may not be able to guarantee that they will be able to appropriately confer to the particulars of your specific decks
From there, it may also be helpful if you can help me understand what youāre aiming for overall. I know you mentioned the intention to ābuild a lot of decksā; are these all intended to be separate decks?
Additionally, it might be helpful to clarify that access to the AI-enabled features in any decks would require that your students have AnkiHub Premium memberships, in order for them to be able to make use of those features.
Please let me know if that makes sense, and/or if there are any other questions I can help answer for you so hopefully we can get you squared away. ![]()
