I uninstalled and reinstalled Anki for the update. I am subscribed to Anking and synced the deck. Now when I go to browse and suspend cards to add into my “learn” category, none of the cards are showing in the “learn” category. Under browse they show suspend, but not under the "learn category.

I’ll help you understand why your suspended cards aren’t showing up in the “learn” category. Let me search for relevant information to address your issue.

Cards Not Showing in Learn Column After Suspending

Hi there! I understand you’re having an issue where suspended cards aren’t showing up in your “learn” column despite being marked as suspended in the browser. Let me help clarify what might be happening.

Understanding Suspension and Deck Statistics

It seems there might be a misunderstanding about how suspension works in Anki. When you suspend cards, they are specifically removed from study rotation - they won’t appear in your “New,” “Learn,” or “Review” columns.

The “Learn” column in your deck statistics only shows cards that are:

  1. Currently in the learning phase (cards you’ve started studying but haven’t graduated to review yet)
  2. Cards that are scheduled to be learned that day

What’s Likely Happening

When you suspend cards:

  • They are marked as suspended in the browser
  • They are specifically prevented from appearing in any study queue (including “Learn”)
  • They won’t count toward your daily card statistics

To get cards into your learning phase, you need to:

  1. Unsuspend the cards first
  2. Study them, which will then move them into the learning phase

Steps to Fix Your Issue

  1. Browse to the cards you want to study
  2. Unsuspend them (right-click → Toggle Suspend, or use the shortcut)
  3. These cards will now appear as “New” cards in your deck statistics
  4. Once you begin studying them, they’ll move to the “Learn” column

This behavior is similar to what’s described in this FAQ post about the AnKing Step Deck where all cards are initially suspended.

Additional Help

If you need further assistance with unsuspending cards by tag in the AnKing deck, there’s a helpful tutorial available here.

Let me know if this helps or if you need any further clarification!

Hello,
Do you mean that after unsuspending the cards, the blue number (indicating new cards) doesn’t show up on the AnKing deck in the Anki main screen?

If so, please follow this tutorial to ensure the cards are being unsuspended correctly:
:link: Selecting/Unsuspending Cards by Tag

If you’ve already done this and the cards still aren’t appearing, check whether your deck’s settings are limiting the number of new cards per day. Go to the deck settings and make sure that the Preset, This Deck, and Today Only values haven’t reached their daily limits:
