Each time someone uploads a new deck of cards i get two versions.
Sometimes I at first get one version and then after a few hours i get a second one.
Usually they have the exact same amount of cards but today for the first time they didnt. I can delete one and the other remains but I really wanna fix thatā¦
It looks like youāre experiencing duplicate decks when new content is uploaded to AnkiHub. This is a common issue related to how AnkiHub assigns āhome decksā for new cards.
Why This Happens
When AnkiHub doesnāt have a destination set for new cards (called a āhome deckā), it creates a new deck automatically. This often results in duplicate decks appearing as youāve noticed.
How to Fix It
Delete one of the duplicate decks
If both have the same cards, you can safely delete either one
If they have different numbers of cards, you may want to keep the one with more cards
Set a home deck for new cards
Open the AnkiHub menu from the main Anki window
Select āSubscribed Decksā
For each deck subscription, set a destination for new cards
This ensures new content will download to your specified deck rather than creating duplicates
Hereās what the setting looks like:
By properly setting the home deck for each of your subscriptions, you should stop seeing duplicate decks appear when content gets updated.
If you continue to experience issues after making these changes, please let us know!
How does step two work? Where do I have to set a destination for new cards?
I had two subscription of which I deleted one just now. So I only have one subscription by now
By setting this home deck, youāre telling AnkiHub where to place any new cards that come in from updates. This prevents the creation of duplicate decks.
Itās good that youāve deleted one of your duplicate subscriptions. Now that you only have one subscription, setting the home deck will ensure you donāt get duplicates in the future.

It looks like the bot did indeed suggest changing the destination for your deck which is the correct solution. Just checking in to see if youāre all squared away and/or if there are any other questions we can help with.
Hi!
It worked for a few days. Yesterday the duplications reappeared. I deleted one of each. Now all the new cards got merged with other subdecks. It is a big mess now. I donāt know what I am doing wrong
So what I did was deleting the deck and resubscribing which worked for the last two weeks. Then suddenly, a copy of the deck appeared with the same name and written (Ankihub) behind it (screenshot 1). It partly contains the same subdecks, partly the ones of the normal deck do not appear there and for some they only appear there (screenshot 2). Interestingly enough, the subdeck 036 VL_ZNS_Nukleotidstoffwechsel only appears in the copy deck but with double the amount of cards. I moved one subdeck from the copy deck because it did not appear in the original one. As a result I now have it in my original one but 2 times (screenshot 3). Name of the deck is ā- DRITTES SEMESTERā -ā and destination is shown in my next answer.
Thank you so much for your help in advance!
Once youāve confirmed the destination for the deck, that should be the place that Ankihub treats as being the āhome baseā for the deck. From there, I would move the cards out of the āXXX (AnkiHub)ā version and you can safely delete it.
It is the case that occasionally AnkiHub will not initially recognize the home base of the deck and so, to be safe, it creates another destination. But, once youāve confirmed that destination (as it looks like you have done) you can safely move on and organize your deck however you see fit.
Please let me know if that answers your question, and if thereās anything else I can help with.
Thanks for the quick answer!!
But i wonder since I always had the same destination for the deck. So I wonder why it created the scond one in the first place and what i should do e.g. with subdeck 036 where it doubled all the cards or with subdeck 049. And is there a way to prevent these things in the future?
Iām not sure I know, Iām sorry to say. I am, sadly, not a developer myself so I fear Iām not expert enough to know the root causes sometimes of why computers behave the way they do.
If there is anything else I can help with, though, or any other questions I can help answer for you, happy do to my best otherwise.
