Hierarchical Tags Not Working

I tried downloading the V12 deck from the website, however, I think I disabled the AnkiHub add-on before the media sync was complete. (I did this because I was receiving a lot of error messages while trying to study). Now some of the media is not showing up properly and when I look at the tags under First Aid only 1-2 cards will show up in some of the subheadings where other people with the V12 version are seeing 30 or so cards.

I tried to unsubscribe and resubscribe to the step deck on ankihub but this did not solve the issue.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Things not to ask about here:

Please include supporting information and documents such as screenshots, recordings, etc.

Please try resetting your local changes. To do this:

Go to browse in your Anki → at the top click on the ankihub addon tab → press reset all local changes

This will restore everything to what AnkiHub has unless you have specifically protected those fields

Thank you. I tried this but I am still getting only one card under first aid tags where I know there should be more cards.

Hello

Do you have the Ankihub addon currently installed and are you logged in via that addon?

I have the add-on installed and I am logged into Ankihub (screenshot below). I did just get this error message when I opened it this morning (third screenshot below).

A couple of quick things:

  1. Do you know what version of Anki you’re running?
  2. The error you’re receiving is most likely due to your internet connection, and/or antivirus, firewall, or proxy. I would recommend trying to connect from a separate internet connection or hotspot.

Thanks for the response! How can I figure out what version of anki I am running?

Also, do you mean a different internet connection only when I close the app or when I am using anki at all? Either way is fine but it’s just the internet in my apartment and I would prefer to use that instead of my hotspot if possible.

(Using my hotspot won’t fix the hierarchical tags issue, correct? Just the error I am receiving which I only receive when I close the app sometimes).

To check your version of Anki: from the main page click Anki, then ‘about Anki.’ The version number should be included in the resulting page.

Since you’re receiving an error message related to your internet connection it’s probably worth trying out a different connection to see if that resolves the issue. If so, it can suggest that the issue is not with Anki, or with the addon, but rather with your service connection.

I closed the app and connected to my hot spot then reopened it. It will tell “sync complete” when I open the app but the tags still aren’t properly loaded. For example (1st screenshot below), the tag below only shows one card underneath it for me but my peers with V12 have ~30 cards under that tag. It also doesn’t seem like all of the Uworld Numbered tags even loaded as I’m missing massive amounts of numbers and have done a couple questions today which didn’t have a tag for the ID#.

The second screenshot below shows the version of anki I am running. Thank you again for your help. I really appreciate it.

Can you copy paste this string here?

tag:#AK_Step1_v11::#FirstAid::09_Gastrointestinal::04_Pathology::24_Colonic_Polyps

This tag is a v11 tag. You need to go to your v12 tags. Can you see the v12 tag in your Anki?

When I click on the V12 tags I think they are all there. I am SO sorry; that is embarrassing.

Do you recommend deleting anything from V11 at all? (If so, how would I do that?)

Also, a followup question, when I click on the Uworld tags in V12 they are not organized like they were in V11 (see screenshot below). Is this the norm? Also some questions still seem to be missing. For example for question #13600 there is no tag popping up for me but I did find cards through my own searching that pertained to this question pretty directly. I just want to make sure this is correct.

No worries!

Yes, we recommend deleting any v11 tags or any v11 cards that are not imported from v12 as they are duplicates or extremely low yield

Yes this is correct. We recommend the UWorld QID add-on to quickly search UWorld QIDs and get the corresponding cards. Its included in an AnKing VIP subscription (separate from AnkiHub)

I used the UWorld QID add-on and found cards for QID 13600

Put this in the anki browser and see if something comes up: tag:*UWorld*::13600

Thank you so much! This was incredibly helpful!!!
