V11 to v12 update not working (subscribed, Anking Reset Done)

Hi,

I have subscribed the anking v12 deck and cannot sync to the v12.

  1. I have subscribed to v12

  2. In Anki I have logged into Anking

  3. Anking local changes has been reset in Browse tab.

When I click on Sync button, it says “Collection Sync complete” but the decks (picture attached below) doesn’t show v12.

Any step I’m missing? Appreciate any help.

Thanks for the detailed steps and screenshot—that helps narrow it down.

A couple of important clarifications about updating from v11 → v12 with AnkiHub:

  1. You will not see a new “AnKing v12” deck name appear.

    • With AnkiHub, subscribing to the v12 deck updates your existing AnKing deck structure in place.
    • The deck names in your sidebar (AnKing → Step 1/Step 2, etc.) usually stay the same; the content (notes, fields, tags, card templates) is what gets updated to v12.
  2. “Collection sync complete” only refers to Anki ↔ AnkiWeb, not AnkiHub.

    • The top‑right sync button is for AnkiWeb, and it won’t change deck names.
    • AnkiHub syncing is controlled by the AnkiHub add‑on; when it updates, you should see a small sync progress bar at the bottom of the Anki window and log messages about “Applying remote changes”.

To confirm whether you’re actually on v12, please check these:

  1. Check the note type version in a card

    • Open Anki → select a card from your AnKing deck → click Cards….
    • In the template or styling, look for any mention of v12 or updated fields (for example, newer AnKing fields/tags you know are v12‑specific, if you’ve seen the changelog).
    • If you previously were on v11 and now see new fields/tags, that indicates the update went through even though deck names didn’t change.
  2. Force an AnkiHub sync from the add‑on

    • In Anki, go to Tools → Add-ons → AnkiHub → Config or menu entry and look for a “Sync Now / Pull changes / Check for updates” option (wording can vary slightly with versions).
    • Run that and watch the log/output; see if it reports applying updates for the AnKing deck.
  3. Confirm the correct deck is linked in AnkiHub

    • In the AnkiHub add‑on, open the Deck Manager / Subscriptions view.
    • Make sure your local “AnKing” parent deck is actually linked to the AnKing v12 community deck (and not to the older v11 or another variant).
    • If it’s not linked correctly, unlink and re‑link the correct deck, then sync again.

If after that you still don’t see any signs of v12 changes:

Please post back with:

  • A screenshot of your AnkiHub add‑on “Subscriptions/Decks” page in Anki (showing the AnKing v12 subscription and linked local deck).
  • A screenshot or copy of any AnkiHub log/output when you trigger a manual sync from the add‑on.

With those, we can see whether this is 1) just a naming expectation issue, or 2) a real sync/linking problem with your v12 subscription.

Hello,

I would be happy to help.

It looks like you’re looking at ‘decks’ rather than ‘tags’

Oh thank you ! Seems like I have them. Does 31,955 cards for step 1 V12 seem correct number for you?

That does indeed look like the right number.

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.
