How to upload tags from old version of Anking deck to V12

Let me check. So the original note type is AnkingOrhaul

Ok I think I found an unelegant solution but I need to explore the cards more.

  1. I changed all the note types to the most current in the old school deck
  2. I created a back up the school tagged deck
  3. I synched the V11 deck to ankihub’s step deck which updated NID’s but also overwrote my school specific tags.
  4. I then reimported the backed up version which now added the tags (I kept the Import tags option on on the addons)
  5. I then opened my current V12. I made sure that was synched with ankihub (if I didn’t it didn’t work).
  6. I then imported the “now updated V11 to V12”.

Its the first time I don’t have 80k cards. I do somehow have 40k cards though.

You have to protect the tags this way:

Oh I didn’t realize I have to do it on the portal. That would’ve saved me a step

So the problem with my method is its now giving me 8451 “freebies”

Needless to say, I don’t want more cards lol.
