I accidently deleted the anking media folder from my laptop

Hi,

This turned out to be a tricky issue to debug. I attached an add-on package with a potential fix - can you install it from Tools > Add-ons > Install from file restart Anki and sync again? If you get prompted to update the add-on, please ignore the prompt for now.

ankihub.zip (7.0 MB)

Additionally, if you click on AnkiHub > Media sync you should now see sync progress.

hello,

yes i see the sync progress bar

I will let it sync for a couple of hours

thank you so much

EDIT- Hi,

The sync progress bar is still visible, but no media files have been downloaded for the past 4 hours, and there has been no progress ie the bar is empty (check media is till showing the same number of missing files- 44k)

(Itโ€™'s stuck in this state)

Can you try syncing with this then upload logs again?

ankihub.zip (7.0 MB)

this is the upload logs after the add-on and sync

ankihub_addon_logs_ana016_1786123469.log

OK, I think weโ€™re getting to the bottom of it. Can you try this again and upload logs?
ankihub.zip (7.0 MB)

Also: Can you go to your Anki media folder (should be under C:\Users\hp\AppData\Roaming\\Anki2 by default), select all files, right-click and click Copy as path and paste text in a text file and attach it here?

hello,

there you go

the update logs- ankihub_addon_logs_ana016_1786183606.log

the files- โ€œC:\Users\hp\AppData\Roaming\Anki2\User 1โ€
โ€œC:\Users\hp\AppData\Roaming\Anki2\prefs21.dbโ€
โ€œC:\Users\hp\AppData\Roaming\Anki2\README.txtโ€
โ€œC:\Users\hp\AppData\Roaming\Anki2\addons21โ€
โ€œC:\Users\hp\AppData\Roaming\Anki2\Anking temp mediaโ€
โ€œC:\Users\hp\AppData\Roaming\Anki2\logsโ€

Iโ€™ll check the logs and get back to you.

Sorry, I meant to ask for the files in the C:\Users\hp\AppData\Roaming\Anki2\User 1\collection.media folder instead.

hi

there you go-

โ€œC:\Users\hp\AppData\Roaming\Anki2\User 1\collection.mediaโ€

thank you

Is the collection.media folder empty? I want a list of files there.

Looks like the last update didnโ€™t get applied properly according to the logs. Please try this and upload logs again:
ankihub.zip (6.9 MB)

If no luck, please create a temporary new Anki profile from File>Switch Profile, log in to AnkiHub there, try syncing and let us know if media files get synced this way.

The files are downloading!!!

Thank you so so much, I really appreciate all the work you did!

Just to confirm so we have a permanent fix for this: Did it work with the last package or only when you switched to a new profile?

I re-downloaded the Anki hub link sent in the last message and restarted my computer

The add on worked smoothly.

I now have all the relevant images!

Once again, thank you so much
