I installed the anking mcat deck and it installed onto my Mr. pankow deck and it seemed to mess up the deck and the “learning” cards would not show up. I deleted the pankow deck which led to the anking deck to also delete. Now I cant get it back. I tried logging in and out of anking on my anki but that didn’t work either. How do I get the anking mcat deck onto my anki now?

Hello,
There might be a couple of things that merit some clarification, just to make sure you’re all squared away. First is that the Pankow deck is already contained in the AnKing MCAT deck (Mr. Pankow himself did the incorporating).
Thus, downloading the Pankow deck in addition to the AnKing MCAT deck is likely to cause some issues, either in conflict or in overwriting cards that share a given lineage. From the sound of it you may have run into just such a conundrum.
Assuming you’re currently subscribed to the AnKing MCAT Deck the first thing I’d recommend that you try is resetting local changes to the deck. This can be done by following this tutorial, which should guide you through: Resetting Local Changes
Give that a shot and let me know how/if that does the trick. If it does, great. If not, we’ll keep digging until we get you in ship shape.
Hello,
You can reset local changes. Here’s the tutorial: How to Reset Local Changes
I’ve resent local changes and the deck is back! But, the learning portion of anki is still not working for me. For example, when I click the 6m option, the card does not show up in my learning section.
I think I know what you’re referencing, but just to make sure I’m on the same page can you show me what you mean?
Just so I have a better idea of what you’re seeing/describing
This is a bit difficult for me to show you in a screenshot. When I am studying a card, there are 4 time increment options at the bottom of the screen, giving options of when to study this card again. I would click option 3 (10 minutes) and usually, the card # in the red (learning) section would go up and in about 10 minutes, the card would reappear. This isn’t happening anymore. When I click on the 10 minute option, the # of “learning” cards doesn’t increase.
Got it. What you’re describing is pretty normal, as the red number should increase once the card appears in the queue again. Until the card re-appears, and is ready for review, it won’t appear in the red number column.
This is intentional, and part of the recommended settings that you can opt in, or out, of when you install the deck. The setting can be altered, though, by adjusting the Learn Ahead Limit’. If you prefer to change it, you can follow this tutorial which should guide you through the process: Adjusting the Learn Ahead Limit
Should only take a minute or two. Let me know if that does the trick for you, and we’ll go from there.
