No AnKing MCAT deck or cards showing after sync

I subscribed to the AnKing MCAT deck recently. When I keep syncing in Anki, I don’t see any decks or cards showing up. Please help me fix this issue. Thank you.

This is what my Anki page currently looks like:

Thanks for the screenshot and details, that helps.

When you subscribe to the AnKing MCAT deck on AnkiHub, the cards don’t automatically appear just from pressing Anki’s normal Sync button. You first need to download/import the deck from AnkiHub into Anki, then future changes will sync via AnkiHub.

Please go through these steps:

1. Confirm AnkiHub add-on is installed and logged in

In Anki (on your computer):

  1. Go to Tools → Add-ons
  2. Make sure AnkiHub is listed and enabled.
  3. If it is, click Config (or AnkiHub → Log in from the menu) and make sure you’re logged into the same AnkiHub account you used to subscribe to the MCAT deck.

If AnkiHub is not installed, follow the instructions here to install it:
https://community.ankihub.net/t/how-to-install-the-ankihub-addon/597

2. Join / update the AnKing MCAT deck from inside Anki

With AnkiHub properly installed and logged in:

  1. In Anki’s menu bar, click AnkiHub → Browse Shared Decks (or AnkiHub → My Decks, depending on your version).
  2. Find AnKing MCAT in the list.
  3. Click Join / Download (or Download latest version) for that deck.
  4. Wait for Anki to download and import the deck.
  5. Go back to the Decks screen in Anki — you should now see the AnKing MCAT deck (or a similarly named deck) listed in addition to “Getting Started with Anki”.

3. Then use normal sync

After the deck appears:

  • Use the regular Sync button at the top of Anki to keep your cards in sync across devices.
  • AnkiHub will keep the content of the shared deck updated (new/edited cards, tags, etc.), but Anki’s own sync handles getting those cards onto your other devices.

If it still doesn’t show

If after following the steps:

  • The AnkiHub add-on is installed and logged in, and
  • You don’t see AnKing MCAT under AnkiHub → My Decks or after trying to join it,

then please post:

  1. A screenshot of Tools → Add-ons showing the AnkiHub entry.
  2. A screenshot of the AnkiHub menu in Anki (showing the options under it).

That will make it much easier to see what’s going wrong and help you further.

Hello,

Please reset your local changes for the MCAT deck by following this tutorial: How to Reset Local Changes

Next, in the Browser screen, select the #AK_MCAT_v2 tag and send a screenshot showing how many cards are in it.

Then, you can follow this tutorial to start studying: How to Get Started Studying

Let me know if you need help with anything else!

This is what my Browser screen looks like. Is this the correct number of cards? Thank you!

Yes, that is the correct number of cards. Can you see the deck and study it now?

Yes, thanks so much!

I have one more question. Where can I find the Mr. Pankow P/S deck?

The Pankow deck was long ago incorporated into the AnKing Step deck, and heavily modified by Pankow himself in order to best fit within the deck. That is to say, it’s no longer a standalone deck within the MCAT deck, but rather is fully incorporated into it

All of the original content covered by the Pankow deck is now housed within the Behavioral subdeck, though isn’t separated or delineated in any meaningful way at this point, as it has been so readily updated in the years since its incorporation

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.
