I am subscribed to the Anking Step Deck and have the core plan. Other decks (e.g. Lab Values) sync correctly. Anking shows as subscribed but never installs into my Anki collection. Please link the deck to my account.

Thanks for the detailed description â that helps narrow it down.
Because other subscribed decks (like Lab Values) sync correctly, this is almost certainly not an account or general syncing issue, but something specific to:
- how the AnKing Step Deck is set up in your collection, or
- how itâs linked to your AnkiHub add-on.
Letâs go through the quickest checks first.
1. Confirm subscription & plan status
On AnkiHub web:
- Go to My Decks.
- Confirm:
- AnKing Step Deck is listed under your subscriptions.
- Your Core Plan is active (not expired or in trial-limbo).
If it does not show as subscribed there, the deck cannot sync to Anki, and youâll need to fix the subscription first (via the AnkiHub website, not Anki).
2. Make sure the deck exists in Anki and is linked
The AnkiHub add-on does not âmagically createâ decks in some situations; instead, you usually:
- Install/import the base deck in Anki (if this deck requires a starter file).
- Then link it to the AnkiHub deck.
In Anki (desktop):
- Go to Tools â Add-ons â AnkiHub â Configure / Open AnkiHub.
- Open the Decks or Subscriptions tab.
- See if AnKing Step Deck shows:
- If it shows as Subscribed but âNot Linkedâ:
- Click it and choose the correct local deck to link OR
- If no local deck exists, use any available âCreate/Download deckâ or âInstall deckâ option, if present.
- If it does not show at all, try Refresh / Sync with AnkiHub in the add-on window.
- If it shows as Subscribed but âNot Linkedâ:
Then:
- After linking, click Ankiâs sync button (top right) and also trigger a âSync with AnkiHubâ from the add-on (if available in your version).
3. Check for hidden error messages
Sometimes the deck ânever installsâ because the add-on hit an error:
- In Anki, go to Tools â Add-ons â AnkiHub â View Logs (or similar âLogs/Debugâ entry).
- Look for any recent errors mentioning:
- âAnKing Stepâ
- âsubscriptionâ
- âfailed to downloadâ / âunauthorizedâ
If you see specific errors, please paste them into this topic so we can be more precise.
4. Why I canât âlink the deckâ from here
I donât have direct access to your AnkiHub account or Anki collection, so I canât actually link the deck for you from my side. I can only guide you through the steps above.
If after doing all of this:
- The AnKing Step Deck is clearly shown as Subscribed on the AnkiHub site,
- But in Anki, it still doesnât appear at all (no option to link, no deck created),
then please reply here with:
- A screenshot of:
- Your AnkiHub â My Decks page showing the AnKing Step Deck subscription.
- A screenshot of:
- Ankiâs Decks screen, and
- The AnkiHub add-on deck list, showing what you see for that deck.
That will let us quickly see whether this is:
- A linking issue,
- A permissions/subscription sync issue,
- Or a possible bug that needs to be escalated to the AnkiHub team.

Reading: I have encountered with a difficulty in syncing only the Anking cards
Thanks for the screenshotsâtheyâre very helpful.
From them, everything looks correctly subscribed and linked:
- On the web, youâre subscribed to AnKing Step Deck.
- In the AnkiHub add-on, AnKing Step Deck appears under Subscribed AnkiHub Decks.
- In your Anki deck list, there is a deck called âAnKing Step Deckâ.
So the issue is not that the deck isnât linked; itâs that no cards are being downloaded into that deck.
Letâs check the likely causes one by one.
1. Make sure the destination deck is correct
In the AnkiHub add-on (your third screenshot):
On the right side, for AnKing Step Deck, look at:
Destination on Your Device â Destination for new cards
Confirm that:
- It is not blank, and
- It is set to âAnKing Step Deckâ (or whichever deck you actually want to use).
If itâs set to some other deck (or a filtered deck), change it to the regular deck âAnKing Step Deckâ, then:
- Click Save / Close (if applicable).
- Click Ankiâs sync button (top right).
- In the AnkiHub add-on, use âSync with AnkiHubâ / âUpdate deck nowâ for AnKing Step Deck.
Then check whether new cards now appear.
2. Check if the deck is paused / new cards limited
On Ankiâs main deck screen:
- Rightâclick AnKing Step Deck â Options.
- In the options group:
- New cards/day should be > 0 (e.g., 20, 40, etc.).
- Make sure the deck is not suspended or a filtered deck.
If New = 0, increase it, click OK, then check if you now see new cards.
3. Confirm that cards actually exist and are not all suspended
- Select AnKing Step Deck.
- Click Browse.
- In the left sidebar, click the AnKing Step Deck subdeck.
- Do you see:
- 0 notes / 0 cards â nothing has downloaded yet.
- Or many cards, but all have a yellow âsuspendâ icon?
If:
- 0 cards:
- In the AnkiHub add-on, with AnKing Step Deck selected, click any button like âResync / Force full sync / Redownload deckâ if available, then sync again.
- Cards are there but all suspended:
- Select all (Ctrl+A) â rightâclick â Toggle Suspend to unsuspend, then try studying again.
4. Check the AnkiHub logs for this deck
In Anki:
- Tools â Add-ons â AnkiHub â View Logs (or similar).
- Look for any recent entries mentioning âAnKing Step Deckâ or errors like:
- âpermission deniedâ
- âfailed to download notesâ
- ârate limitâ
If you see any error lines, please paste them in your next reply (or add another screenshot), and I can interpret them.
5. If nothing above works
Please reply with:
- In the Browse window:
- A screenshot showing AnKing Step Deck selected and the card count at the top.
- From the AnkiHub logs:
- Any error messages related to AnKing Step Deck.
That will let us see whether this is a download problem, an options issue, or a bug that needs escalation to the AnkiHub devs.
Hi,
Please try changing the deck settings and unsuspending the cards. Here is a tutorial: How to Get Started Studying
If that doesnât resolve the issue, please
- reset local changes: How to Reset Local Changes
- go to the Browser and click on the #AK_Step1_v12 tag. How many cards does it show?
Let me know what you find! ![]()
