I have encountered with a difficulty in syncing only the Anking cards

I am subscribed to the Anking Step Deck and have the core plan. Other decks (e.g. Lab Values) sync correctly. Anking shows as subscribed but never installs into my Anki collection. Please link the deck to my account.

Thanks for the detailed description — that helps narrow it down.

Because other subscribed decks (like Lab Values) sync correctly, this is almost certainly not an account or general syncing issue, but something specific to:

  • how the AnKing Step Deck is set up in your collection, or
  • how it’s linked to your AnkiHub add-on.

Let’s go through the quickest checks first.

1. Confirm subscription & plan status

On AnkiHub web:

  1. Go to My Decks.
  2. Confirm:
    • AnKing Step Deck is listed under your subscriptions.
    • Your Core Plan is active (not expired or in trial-limbo).

If it does not show as subscribed there, the deck cannot sync to Anki, and you’ll need to fix the subscription first (via the AnkiHub website, not Anki).

2. Make sure the deck exists in Anki and is linked

The AnkiHub add-on does not “magically create” decks in some situations; instead, you usually:

  1. Install/import the base deck in Anki (if this deck requires a starter file).
  2. Then link it to the AnkiHub deck.

In Anki (desktop):

  1. Go to Tools → Add-ons → AnkiHub → Configure / Open AnkiHub.
  2. Open the Decks or Subscriptions tab.
  3. See if AnKing Step Deck shows:
    • If it shows as Subscribed but “Not Linked”:
      • Click it and choose the correct local deck to link OR
      • If no local deck exists, use any available “Create/Download deck” or “Install deck” option, if present.
    • If it does not show at all, try Refresh / Sync with AnkiHub in the add-on window.

Then:

  • After linking, click Anki’s sync button (top right) and also trigger a “Sync with AnkiHub” from the add-on (if available in your version).

3. Check for hidden error messages

Sometimes the deck “never installs” because the add-on hit an error:

  1. In Anki, go to Tools → Add-ons → AnkiHub → View Logs (or similar “Logs/Debug” entry).
  2. Look for any recent errors mentioning:
    • “AnKing Step”
    • “subscription”
    • “failed to download” / “unauthorized”

If you see specific errors, please paste them into this topic so we can be more precise.

4. Why I can’t “link the deck” from here

I don’t have direct access to your AnkiHub account or Anki collection, so I can’t actually link the deck for you from my side. I can only guide you through the steps above.

If after doing all of this:

  • The AnKing Step Deck is clearly shown as Subscribed on the AnkiHub site,
  • But in Anki, it still doesn’t appear at all (no option to link, no deck created),

then please reply here with:

  1. A screenshot of:
    • Your AnkiHub → My Decks page showing the AnKing Step Deck subscription.
  2. A screenshot of:
    • Anki’s Decks screen, and
    • The AnkiHub add-on deck list, showing what you see for that deck.

That will let us quickly see whether this is:

  • A linking issue,
  • A permissions/subscription sync issue,
  • Or a possible bug that needs to be escalated to the AnkiHub team.

Reading: I have encountered with a difficulty in syncing only the Anking cards

Thanks for the screenshots—they’re very helpful.

From them, everything looks correctly subscribed and linked:

  • On the web, you’re subscribed to AnKing Step Deck.
  • In the AnkiHub add-on, AnKing Step Deck appears under Subscribed AnkiHub Decks.
  • In your Anki deck list, there is a deck called “AnKing Step Deck”.

So the issue is not that the deck isn’t linked; it’s that no cards are being downloaded into that deck.

Let’s check the likely causes one by one.

1. Make sure the destination deck is correct

In the AnkiHub add-on (your third screenshot):

On the right side, for AnKing Step Deck, look at:

Destination on Your Device → Destination for new cards

Confirm that:

  • It is not blank, and
  • It is set to “AnKing Step Deck” (or whichever deck you actually want to use).

If it’s set to some other deck (or a filtered deck), change it to the regular deck “AnKing Step Deck”, then:

  1. Click Save / Close (if applicable).
  2. Click Anki’s sync button (top right).
  3. In the AnkiHub add-on, use “Sync with AnkiHub” / “Update deck now” for AnKing Step Deck.

Then check whether new cards now appear.

2. Check if the deck is paused / new cards limited

On Anki’s main deck screen:

  1. Right‑click AnKing Step Deck → Options.
  2. In the options group:
    • New cards/day should be > 0 (e.g., 20, 40, etc.).
    • Make sure the deck is not suspended or a filtered deck.

If New = 0, increase it, click OK, then check if you now see new cards.

3. Confirm that cards actually exist and are not all suspended

  1. Select AnKing Step Deck.
  2. Click Browse.
  3. In the left sidebar, click the AnKing Step Deck subdeck.
  4. Do you see:
    • 0 notes / 0 cards → nothing has downloaded yet.
    • Or many cards, but all have a yellow “suspend” icon?

If:

  • 0 cards:
    • In the AnkiHub add-on, with AnKing Step Deck selected, click any button like “Resync / Force full sync / Redownload deck” if available, then sync again.
  • Cards are there but all suspended:
    • Select all (Ctrl+A) → right‑click → Toggle Suspend to unsuspend, then try studying again.

4. Check the AnkiHub logs for this deck

In Anki:

  1. Tools → Add-ons → AnkiHub → View Logs (or similar).
  2. Look for any recent entries mentioning “AnKing Step Deck” or errors like:
    • “permission denied”
    • “failed to download notes”
    • “rate limit”

If you see any error lines, please paste them in your next reply (or add another screenshot), and I can interpret them.

5. If nothing above works

Please reply with:

  1. In the Browse window:
    • A screenshot showing AnKing Step Deck selected and the card count at the top.
  2. From the AnkiHub logs:
    • Any error messages related to AnKing Step Deck.

That will let us see whether this is a download problem, an options issue, or a bug that needs escalation to the AnkiHub devs.

Hi,

Please try changing the deck settings and unsuspending the cards. Here is a tutorial: How to Get Started Studying

If that doesn’t resolve the issue, please

  1. reset local changes: How to Reset Local Changes
  2. go to the Browser and click on the #AK_Step1_v12 tag. How many cards does it show?

Let me know what you find!
