Hi there! It looks like you’re having some trouble syncing the AnKing Step Deck despite having recently purchased a subscription. Let me help you troubleshoot this issue.

Common Solutions to Try

  1. Verify Your Subscription Status

    • Make sure you’re logged into the same account on the AnkiHub web app that you used to purchase your subscription
    • Check if your subscription shows as active in your account settings
  2. Complete the AnkiHub Setup Process

  3. Ensure Proper Installation and Login

    • Install the AnkiHub add-on (code: 1322529746)
    • Log into the add-on with your AnkiHub credentials (not your AnkiWeb credentials)
    • Make sure you’re logged in with the same account you used to purchase the subscription
  4. Sync Your Anki

    • After logging into the AnkiHub add-on, click “Sync” in Anki
    • You should be prompted to install the deck

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Go to the AnkiHub explore page
  2. Find the AnKing Step Deck and click “Subscribe to Deck”
  3. Install the AnkiHub add-on in Anki (Tools → Add-ons → Get Add-ons → paste 1322529746)
  4. Log into the AnkiHub add-on with your AnkiHub credentials
  5. Click sync in Anki

I received a confirmation email that I am subscribed but I can’t access the Anking Deck on AnkiHub or syn it to Anki. I have verified my subscription status and it says it is active.

I understand you’ve received a confirmation email for your subscription but you still can’t access the AnKing Step Deck. Let’s troubleshoot this issue more specifically.

Additional Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Check Your Login on the Web App

    • Go to app.ankihub.net and make sure you’re logged in
    • Navigate to your profile/settings to verify your subscription shows as active
  2. Make Sure You’ve Subscribed to the Deck

    • While logged in to the web app, go to the explore page
    • Find the AnKing Step Deck and click the “Subscribe to Deck” button
    • You should see a confirmation that you’re subscribed to the deck
  3. Check Add-on Connection

    • In Anki, click on “AnkiHub” at the top of your application
    • Verify that you’re logged in with the same account that has the active subscription
    • If you’re not logged in or see any errors, try logging out and back in
  4. Clear Cache and Restart

    • Close Anki completely
    • Restart your computer
    • Open Anki and try syncing again
  5. Try Different Browser/Network

    • If accessing the web app is an issue, try a different browser or network connection

There was a known bug that was preventing some users from utilizing AnkiHub even though they had an active subscription. If you’re still experiencing this issue after trying these steps, please provide the specific error message you’re seeing and we’ll help you further.

I have tired this as well as logging in and out but even on this website it says that the Anking deck required a subscription when I try to access it. I am signed in and have an active subscription

I understand your frustration. It sounds like there might be a technical issue with your subscription being properly recognized by the system. Let me suggest some more targeted solutions:

Advanced Troubleshooting

  1. Account Verification Issue

    • There might be a sync delay between your payment and the system recognizing your subscription
  2. Clear Cache on the Web App

    • Try clearing your browser cache completely
    • Log out and back into the AnkiHub website
    • Try accessing the AnKing deck again
  3. Check Your Membership Level

    • Make sure your subscription is at the correct membership level that includes access to the AnKing Step Deck
    • Not all subscription tiers provide access to all decks
  4. Contact Support Directly

    • If the issue persists, this appears to be a technical problem that may require direct intervention
    • You can email the AnkiHub team at support@ankihub.net with:
      • Your account email
      • A screenshot of your subscription confirmation
      • A screenshot of the error message

Additional Information

Several users have experienced a similar issue where the system doesn’t properly recognize their active subscription. The AnkiHub team is usually able to resolve this on their end by manually verifying and updating your account status.

In the meantime, avoid making duplicate purchases as this can sometimes complicate the situation further. If you’ve already been charged multiple times, the team can process a refund for the duplicate charges once your access is fixed.

Hello,

Try now, your subscription should be active

Thank you!

Hi, now it says that I did syn the deck to Anki but nothing is showing up. I have the Getting Started Deck but there are no cards in it and the Step deck doesnt show up at all

Could be a few things, but we can try the likeliest solution first: Resetting Local Changes

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.

Hi Brian,

I followed those steps and after pressing sync it said that it updated 24 cards but I still dont see an Anking deck and the Getting Started deck is still empty

Okay, let’s dig a little deeper then.

First, within Anki click on the top menu bar: Anki - About Anki, and let me know what version of Anki you’re running.

Second, can you click on Browse, go down to your tags, and look for this tag:

image

If that tag is there, click on it, and then if you can show me a screenshot of your entire screen

I am running version 25.02.1 and here is a screenshot!

Thank you for that.

The good news is that all of your cards appear to be present:

So I’m happy to report that all of the cards that should be present, are indeed present. The next question is perhaps where they are specifically located in your collection

I can’t quite see from the image you shared but if you expand that window a bit you should see a column labeled ‘Deck’ as so:

This should tell you where the cards are located, and you can freely move them into a different deck if you’d prefer they be somewhere other than their current location.

Got it. Thank you so much!
