Hey AnkiHub community! We’ve got some exciting updates to share.
New Features & Updates
Find What You Need, Faster: Introducing Smart Tag Search!
Tired of jumping between different resource tags to find all the cards on a single topic? Our new Smart Tag Search solves this!
Now, you can search for a medical concept (like “endocarditis”), and AnkiHub will show you curated clusters of relevant tags from all your resources, along with a set of related tags that you can choose to add to your search if you’d like. This lets you unsuspend cards with confidence, knowing you haven’t missed anything important. And it saves you time, as you don’t need to do repeated tag searches in Anki’s browser.

One-Click Prompts & Instant Chatbot Access!
We’re making the AnkiHub chatbot faster and easier to use with two major improvements: one-click preset prompts and instant access from the Anki browser.
Tired of typing the same instructions over and over? We’ve added new “Explain Like I’m 5” and “Generate USMLE Q-Bank Item” buttons, letting you create simple explanations or practice questions with a single click.
You can also now launch the chatbot directly from the Anki browser without having to start a review session. Just right-click on a note or use a keyboard shortcut to open the chat and get answers instantly, keeping your study workflow smooth and uninterrupted.
Boards & Beyond Integration Update
We’ve updated all Boards & Beyond Endocrinology Step 1 tags in the Step Deck to link to their latest videos. This means no more broken links or missing content. Every click takes you straight to the right video.
Coming soon: We’re working to update other sections too, so stay tuned!
Bug Fixes
SmartSearch Functionality Fixes
- We fixed a critical issue where the “Add to study queue” button was not unsuspending cards as expected.
- The “Card Preview” button is now fully functional after performing a file search, allowing you to view cards directly from the search results.
- We resolved an issue where the ‘State’ filter (suspended/unsuspended) and the ‘Step’ filter would not apply correctly after switching from a text search to a file search.

We wanted to share a quick update regarding announcements you may have missed. Recently, an issue with our email provider may have prevented some of you from receiving emails about deck updates.
