AnkiHub Updates - June 2025 
Hey AnkiHub community! We’ve got some exciting updates to share. From smarter searching to smoother workflows, here’s what’s new:
New Features & Updates
SmartSearch Gets Even Smarter!
We’ve enhanced SmartSearch to make it more intuitive. You can now launch it directly from the browser and find the SmartSearch button more easily within enabled decks.
We’ve also improved the file handling experience: you can now upload .PPTX files, and we’ve added better loading indicators and more helpful error messages to guide you through the process.
New Maintainer Controls: Hide Bulk Suggestions
We’ve introduced a “Hide Bulk Suggestions” toggle for deck maintainers. This feature simplifies the review process by allowing maintainers to focus their efforts on individual user suggestions.
FSRS Auto-Enable & Monthly Optimization Prompt
We’re excited to announce that FSRS is now automatically enabled for all new AnKing users upon deck import! Plus, everyone will receive a monthly prompt to optimize your settings, complete with an easy undo option. FSRS will give everyone more efficient study sessions and these auto-reminders will mean less time spent tinkering with settings.

Study Preferences & Settings Improvements
- We fixed multiple issues with study preferences management, including allowing you to delete existing preferences and preventing excessive or duplicate entries (now limited to 10 for a cleaner experience).
- Other related bugs affecting study preferences and settings have also been resolved.

SmartSearch Functionality
- The SmartSearch dialog now opens correctly from the deck overview and browser every time.
- The “Card Preview” button is fully functional again, allowing you to view cards directly from the search results without interrupting your workflow.
- We resolved an issue where the ‘State’ and ‘Step’ filters would sometimes not apply correctly, ensuring your search results are always accurate.

Payment & Subscription Processes
- Intermittent “Oops 500” errors during scholarship applications have been resolved.
- Partial scholarship subscriptions now activate automatically upon successful payment.

UI Improvements
- The “Last Updated” filter for decks and the deck landing page now correctly display the most recently updated content at the top.
- To reduce clutter, the FSRS optimization reminder will now only appear if your last optimization was more than 30 days ago.
- We fixed the broken image icons in Chat and SmartSearch previews, making it easier to identify resources.
- Fixed log upload progress indicators on Anki.
- The chatbot button now opens within the Anki sidebar, preventing unexpected redirects and maintaining a seamless workflow.
