Missing Media in AnkiHub Deck

When media (pictures & videos) isn’t showing in your AnkiHub deck, there are several possible reasons and solutions. Let me help you troubleshoot this issue:

First, check your media sync status

The most common reason media isn’t showing is that it hasn’t finished downloading yet:

  1. Open Anki on your computer
  2. Go to the AnkiHub add-on menu
  3. Check your media sync status - it should say “Idle” when complete
    • If it says “Downloading,” you’ll need to wait for it to complete
    • Media sync can take up to 60 minutes depending on your internet connection

If media sync is complete but media still isn’t showing:

  1. Make sure you’re subscribed to the correct deck

    • For AnKing decks, ensure you’re subscribed to the official version

  2. Check if AnkiHub provides media for your specific fields

    • For example, the AnKing Step Deck only provides media for certain fields (Text, Extra, Sketchy, and Pixorize)

  3. Try resetting local changes:

    • Go to Browse
    • Click on the AnkiHub add-on at the top
    • Select “Reset local changes”
    • Choose your deck

  4. Generate media files in bulk:

    • Go to Tools > Check Media
    • This will generate any missing media files and report any issues
