Missing media

Hello,
I have synced my decks with AnkiHub, but there are about 30,000 media files missing, and the media downloading status is set to ‘idle.’ Is this normal?

It’s normal to have some media listed as missing. There’s a longer explanation, but basically everyone has a non-zero number there to some degree. I can’t even remember what number it gives me, but it’s in the thousands even though I 100% don’t have any actual media missing.

As long as your cards are displaying fine there’s likely no issue. If you notice that some media is not displaying, then I’m happy to help you troubleshoot if that’s the case. :slight_smile:

Regarding troubleshooting missing media files, do you know if there’s any option or link available where these media files could be downloaded and imported manually?

It depends to some degree on which media files you mean, tbh.

So if you mean the ‘missing ones’ as mentioned above, they’re not actually missing and so there’s nothing much to restore in that sense.

If it turns out that you are missed media, or something isn’t displaying appropriately, which does happen on occasion (random bugs, glitches, etc), you can always restore local changes to your deck: Resetting Local Changes

This will force a check of your local collection against the server copy, and ensure that there are no discrepancies. If you do happen to be missing anything, this will corroborate any shortcomings and reinstitute anything that might be lacking.

In this modern era everything is now handled and channeled through the add-on, so there isn’t a manual folder or link anymore. :slight_smile:
