I see you’re having trouble syncing your AnkiHub decks with Anki. This is a common issue that can usually be resolved with a few troubleshooting steps.
Troubleshooting AnkiHub Sync Issues
When the sync button turns red, it typically indicates there’s a problem with the connection between AnkiHub and Anki. Here’s how to fix it:
1. Reset Local Changes
This is the most effective solution for most sync issues:
- Open Anki
- Go to Browse in your Anki
- At the top of the window, click on the AnkiHub addon tab
- Click on Reset all local changes
- This will restore everything to what AnkiHub has unless you’ve specifically protected certain fields
2. Check Your Subscription Status
Make sure you’re properly subscribed to the deck(s) you want:
- Log into the AnkiHub website
- Check your subscriptions to confirm they’re active
- If necessary, unsubscribe and resubscribe to the deck
3. Verify Anki and AnkiHub Are Both Signed In
- Ensure you’re logged into both your AnkiWeb account in Anki
- Confirm you’re logged into the AnkiHub add-on with your AnkiHub credentials
4. Sync Process Check
Make sure you’ve followed the complete sync process:
- Download the AnkiHub addon and sign in
- Subscribe to the deck you want
- Click sync in Anki and click install when prompted
- If prompted to upload to AnkiWeb or download from AnkiWeb, choose appropriately
5. Check AnkiWeb Sync
Sometimes issues with AnkiWeb sync can affect AnkiHub:
- Try syncing with AnkiWeb first
- If you get any errors about email confirmation, visit AnkiWeb to resolve them
If you’re still experiencing issues after trying these steps, please provide more details about:
- Which version of Anki you’re using
- Any specific error messages you’re seeing
- Which deck(s) you’re trying to sync
Would you like me to walk you through any of these troubleshooting steps in more detail?
