Hi there! I understand you’re looking for the best way to study the Psychology/Social section of what appears to be the AnKing MCAT deck. Since the cards aren’t organized by Kaplan chapters like other sections, I have some suggestions to help you approach this efficiently.
Based on the information available from the AnKing MCAT Deck Wiki, here are some strategies:
Use the Khan Academy organization:
The deck integrates the MrPankow P/S deck and is tagged according to Khan Academy video sections. You can create custom filtered decks based on these tags to organize your study sessions.
Create custom subdecks:
As one user in the wiki mentioned: “You can create subdecks and move the cards based on the tags. For example, making subdecks based on the Khan Academy organization, then going to browse, decks, toolbar to find change deck, and add ::new subdeck to the end of each deck.”
Study by topics rather than chapters:
Instead of trying to match Kaplan chapters, focus on topic areas within Psych/Social (like social psychology, cognitive psychology, etc.) by using the tags in the #AK_MCAT_v2 section.
Use the browser to find relevant tags:
In Anki’s browse function, expand the #AK_MCAT_v2 tag hierarchy and look for the behavioral/psych tags to organize your study by topics.
Create a custom study schedule:
Since there are many cards, consider dividing them into manageable chunks (maybe 30-50 cards per day) based on related concepts rather than trying to follow a specific chapter order.
Remember that the Psych/Social section in the MCAT tests your understanding of concepts and their applications, rather than just memorization of terms. Organizing your study by related concepts can often be more effective than studying by textbook chapters.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions about implementing these strategies.
Hello,
I would be happy to help. ![]()
I presume you’re referencing the AnKing MCAT deck, yeah?
If that’s the case, you are correct that the P/S portion of the deck is not tagged by Kaplan as the Kaplan textbooks are great for pretty much every section except that one. For that reason, very few folks opt to use that Kaplan book and that portion of the deck is then tagged via other resources instead (KA, UWorld, etc.).
Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with. ![]()
