I am new to Anki and wants to study a specific subject at once, such as Immunology, Biochemistry…etc. I looked it up and it seems making a filtered deck would be an option, but I have two questions about that:
- How to do it in a way making sure I will have all cards under that subject and not missing any.
- There are new cards almost every day, how to make sure the new cards will be also added to the filtered decks as appropriate?
Also, if there’s a better way, I would appreciate any suggestions!

That depends on how the deck is structured and whether it’s using tags or subdecks appropriately to denote subjects. When you create a filtered deck, Anki allow you to see what cards will be included in the deck given your search by clicking on the blue link labeled “Search”.
Anki doesn’t include newly added cards to filtered decks automatically. You have to manually use the “Rebuild” button every time new cards are added. But note that depending on what search you used and whether the rescheduling option is enabled, this can result in cards you already studied in the filtered deck to reappear.
