Syncing Issue with AnkiHub Add-On

I just downloaded both Anki on desktop and web, and the content necessary for the AnkiHub add-on. I followed the steps provided, restarted Anki and everything. However, AnkiHub will not sync on my desktop… I keep getting a cancellation.

I have restarted my computer, turned off VPNs, restarted the app itself… I am not sure what is going on here

Hello,

Does it cancel while its installing or after it finishes?

When you click sync, you should click upload to ankiweb

It cancels immediately and does not show the option to upload to ankiweb

I am having the same issue, I downloaded the add on but whenever I hit sync the cancellation message pops up immediately.

Hello, I downloaded the necessary add on and Anki web download, but whenever I try and press sync this error message appears immediately. There is no option to upload or download, and the ankihub add on is downloaded. Please advise.

What Anki version are you on?

@abdo.nh any ideas?

I just downloaded Anki for Mac, so I’m assuming the latest?

@bridgetf @joshpara If you click on the Sync button at the top, do you get the confirmation dialog asking you whether to download or upload? If you choose an option there and try syncing with AnkiHub after that, does the same message appear?

Can you go to AnkiHub > Help > Upload logs and post the filename shown here?

I have the same issue and it just says AnkiHub sync failed whenever i try to sync with ankihub

I don’t see the dialog at all, the error message pops up immediately. I don’t see an upload logs button, could you direct me further?

Hi I am having the same issues. I have tried multiple things, uninstalled, reset, logged in and out and nothing has worked. I did upload logs too

also having the same issue. My add on log is: ankihub_addon_logs_22c08_1716530008.log

I got Anking-MCAT to work in a very weird way.

  1. On default anki page click “Get Shared” on the bottom next to “Create Deck, Import File”
  2. In AnkiWeb type in Search: “mcat” and click on “MCAT Milesdown” with 74 ratings
  3. Scroll and download the ~200mb file
  4. Go back to anki and import the ~200mb file
  5. Confirm you can see the milesdown deck then delete it
  6. Click “Sync” in the header with “Decks, Add, Browse, Stats”
  7. If prompted then click upload and then you should be good to go!

This is a fresh ankihub, ankiweb account. Never made a deck or used anki in my life and this is what worked for me trouble shooting for a few minutes.

Can someone try this to confirm whether the dialog appears? Please try first setting the “Auto Sync with AnkiHub” option under AnkiHub > Config to “Never”.

Click Media Sync: Idle to trigger autocorrection flow.

This worked for me!

Hi,
I just bought a suscription for ankihub becasue i need to start studying for step 2 but this looks very complicated. I dont even understand how to download the step 1/2 anking deck and when I tried to do so it says anki hub sync cancelled. How can you guys help me please?

  • Go to your Anki, at the bottom click create a deck, name it anything
  • At the top of your Anki, go to add card → add a card to the new deck (can be anything)
  • Then sync, that should fix it

Hello everyone! There seems to be a fix, but you can also try this. It seems to be something with AnkiWeb not allowing AnkiHub to sync.

  1. Log out of AnkiWeb (Top left → Anki → Preferences → Syncing → Log out)
  2. Sync with AnkiHub (Top left → AnkiHub → Sync with AnkiHub)
  3. It should prompt you to download the deck.
  4. Press Sync to sign back into AnkiWeb and upload to the cloud!

Let me know if this works!
