New member, just subscribed and trying to Sync

Sync button showing in red, whenever I hit it it starts syncing for half a second and then stops and shows the following message “Sync cancelled”.
Any idea how to fix that?

Can you try the following:

  1. Disable the AnkiHub add-on from Tools > Add-ons.
  2. Restart Anki
  3. Click the Sync button at the top. It should be shown in red.
  4. Anki should ask you whether to download from AnkiWeb or upload. Choose the appropriate option after reading the explanation.
  5. Now enable the add-on from Tools > Add-ons and restart.
  6. Try syncing with AnkiHub.

I have done what you proposed, but sadly it did not work out. I have attached a photo too.

I am not sure what is going on.

Can you go to tools → addons → take a picture?

Can you disable the ankihub addon?

I tried deleting it and downloaded it again, is this what you meant?

No. Click on ankihub → click toggle enabled → it should be greyed out

Then close Anki → open again → follow the instructions laid out by @abdo.nh above

I just did that and followed the instructions minus instruction #4 (because it did not prompt any download), and back to square 1. “Sync cancelled”
It’s still not working.

Is your ankihub addon greyed out here? Can you double check?

i have the same issue as well did all mentioned steps nothing appearing to be beneficial

Can you disable AnkiHub and follow the steps above?

i actually tried to disable it and tried to delete it , followed the same steps above , but unfortunately still

Can you restart Anki and click sync? Does the cancel popup still happen?

btw my anki version is the latest 24.04.1 is this related ?

i re-enabled the ankihub add-in and the issue presists

When you clicked sync, can you click upload to ankiweb?
