Trying to find media

Hello, I am trying to use the old AnkiWeb V2 deck, but I can’t find any links to the corresponding media. Can someone help me with this? Thank you.

You’re right to look for separate media when dealing with the old AnkiWeb V2 decks—those decks originally relied on external media packages.

For AnkiHub, though:

  • The official AnkiHub V2 deck (and its successors) includes all required media bundled within the Anki package you download from AnkiHub.
  • You don’t need a separate media download link like on old AnkiWeb shares.

A few things to check:

  1. Confirm which deck you’re using

    • If you’re using a deck imported from AnkiHub (via the AnkiHub add-on or web download), media should be included.
    • If you imported an old AnkiWeb deck file you found elsewhere, that file may be missing media or referring to an outdated media pack.
  2. Check if media is actually missing

    • In Anki Desktop, go to:
      Tools → Check Media
      • If it reports lots of missing files, the deck you imported truly doesn’t have its media.
      • If nothing is missing, but images/audio still don’t show, it may be a display or sync issue.
  3. Best fix: subscribe to the official AnkiHub version

    • Find the corresponding deck on AnkiHub (e.g., the official AnKing V2/V3/Overhaul/etc.).
    • Subscribe to it with the AnkiHub add-on and sync; this will:
      • Download the deck with media embedded.
      • Keep it updated going forward.
    • This is the recommended way instead of trying to piece together an old AnkiWeb V2 deck + media.

To help you more precisely, could you tell me:

  • The exact name of the V2 deck you’re trying to use, and
  • Whether you imported it from AnkiHub or directly from AnkiWeb (or somewhere else)?

Once I know that, I can point you to the correct AnkiHub deck or next steps.

Hello,

I would be happy to help.

I can’t say I’m sure, to be honest. Any non-AnkiHub versions will be fairly out of date, and long since unsupported. I don’t have much insight as to where, or if, that media is still around I’m sorry to say

Please let me know if that answers your question, and if there’s anything else I can help with.

Ah, well thanks anyway
